Welcome @Kitty McChesney! I think writers and marketers have the most interesting backgrounds and career paths of all time!
👋 Hello all! Kitty here! I'm happy to find this happy hive for customer marketers! 👋
✏️ I'm a strategic storyteller in high tech—customer stories, thought leadership narratives, and some corporate/executive comms—now an independent, but formerly a customer storyteller/writer/editor and content wrangler at VMware and IBM, and a technical writer many moons ago at the former USWest/Qwest (which is now CenturyLink/Lumen).
🧠 I'm also skilled at, and teach (and coach), generative AI for writing, and was a member (and an alumna now—we are still together post-acquisition) of the VMware Marketing AI Council, winner of a MarCom GOLD Award for AI Innovation (2023).
⛰️ I live in Colorado, outside Boulder, and love the mountains, the blue skies, the snow, the sunshine, the birds, the lions, bears and foxes, and most of all, my Bernese Mountain Dog, Chewy!
🎨 My background is in the arts and humanities (MFA Drawing, MA History of Art) and that's where I learned to tell stories (mostly about Michelangelo and Van Gogh) and progressive journalism (LGBTQ publishing) which turned out to be great training for customer storytelling!

Allow me to reintroduce myself (if you read that in Jay-Z voice, let's be friends)
I was very active in this group a year ago when I had a role called Customer Advocacy but I've felt like a bit of an imposter since leaving tech for ecommerce and getting back to my lifecycle roots. But guess what? I'm still doing advocacy! Lifecycle IS customer marketing (amIright, @Rebecca Grossman?!)
Anywho, for those of you who don't know me, I used to lead customer advocacy at Klaviyo until the RIF in March when the amazing @Tim Jahn and I found ourselves in a position to do more than we were ever able to in our roles at the time - by moving to new companies!
I have a long history in lifecycle marketing for both SaaS and ecommerce brands so after my stint in house on the (ecommerce serving) SaaS side, I decided to flex all I know and put it to work in ecomm. I now lead lifecycle and retention for an incredible baby formula brand called
and I am knee deep in all things customer journey, messaging, and retention on a daily basis. I also get to look at baby pictures all day long so that's a real perk. While I may not wear the title of Customer Marketing anymore, I am still very much a customer marketer at heart so I wanted to come back to this community and say hello, see how I can be of service, and support all of you from over here in ecomm land.
The TL;DR:

Becky - Be safe over these next few days. Happy to chat about how we work here at Thought Industries, but I have a difficult time getting case studies to completion. I don't have any problem with smaller projects like my customer of the month program, which is more of a case study light. It doesn't require the time resources from the customer, or us, that a full on case study does.
And I also wear all the hats.
Hi Becky! Welcome! :)
I have an idea to help with the case studies. DM me
Hi all! Joined recently and been learning a bit. I'm Becky Scott. I've been in marketing and community for quite a while. @Joel Primack invited me over here, as I recently took over customer references and case studies. I'm also responsible for community & advocacy programs, influencer relations, and organic social. I feel like I'm starting from scratch for case studies as we work to mature our operations and document processes.
Right now we're building a case study pipeline and getting things in the queue—the previous person was laid off and I wasn't involved at all before. I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed as my main focus is supposed to be community with this just being a small part. [spoiler: it has taken over] Hopefully we'll get back to a balance somewhat soon. I look forward to learning from y'all.
I'm currently based near Raleigh, NC (and on storm watch).
Hi everyone! I'm

Hi everyone, I'm Lexie Sirak! I'm so pumped to have found this community via a presentation @Leslie Barrett did with Nick Bennett a couple months back. My current role is Marketing Campaigns Manager at Nitrogen, but I focus on utilizing demand gen tactics to create expansion pipeline from our current customer base. Many of the customer lifecycle programs and tactics also fall in my wheelhouse, too. I'm based in Columbus, OH and looking forward to being apart of this community and getting to know you all!
, too, if you'd like to connect over there as well!I can’t believe I didnt answer this. How are you doing @Rachel Kim
Hi everyone! I’m
💅 I’m so excited to have found this community. I also found this slack and the friday zoom meetings from @Leslie Barrett and her LinkedIn post. I feel like we all need a community like this, and I’m happy she had all of you in her time of need I’m working for - we are kinda like Dropbox (but way better and more secure). I’ve been at this company for 11 years and have recently (in the last 1.5 years) taken over the entire customer/adoption marketing team. We are really small - only 3 employees (including me) - but our goals are big. We are here to do all customer comms, onboarding and retention. Our goals are around driving adoption, retention, and customer loyalty. I’d love to learn from this community and grow in my career. Since I’m new to this role and we’ve recently split the business into business units, this whole team and function is pretty new. I’m making up quarterly goals and metrics and sometimes feel like I’m just faking it 😐Hello all! 👋 My name is Rachel, nice to meet you all here and excited to join! Also saw this group invite via @Leslie Barrett - rooting for you and for your next role, they’re going to be lucky to have you! My current role is Manager of Customer Marketing at

@Lucy Tekneyan - Gezalian I feel your struggle! I am happy to review it and provide feedback. I am no true expert but consider myself pretty good with resume writing.
Hey Angela! Glad to be part of it.
Hi, there! 👋 I’m Elsbeth and I’m the Social Media and Community Manager for MessageGears, an enterprise customer engagement platform. I’m located in the midcoast region of Maine. Community is a newer role at MessageGears and I’m looking to build more customer advocacy and communication into my role. Looking forward to learning and sharing here!
👋 Hi everyone! My name is Shea and I spent the last 4.5 years doing customer and product marketing at Terminus until the last round of layoffs put me back on the job search. Glad to see some familiar faces and looking forward to connecting with some new ones!
Hi Mary, can you please share your jobs call link with me as well? I’d love to sit in on it. Thanks so much!
This group is amazing!
I dont want to ask for too much but if anyone is open to reviewing my resume and giving me feedback on how I can improve. I would greatly appreciate it. I have been out of the job market for the last 5 1/2 years since I was working at the same place I got laid off from for that long.
Yes, I already applied! Thank you so much!
Hi Lucy, I’m sorry that you were laid off. I hope we can help support you. Did you see that CallRail is hiring? @Lucy Tekneyan - Gezalian
Welcome! 😄
Sorry to hear about the layoffs, Lucy. You are in the right place! This group is full of supportive people who are happy to lend a listening ear and make a connection.

👋 Hello! My name is
(rhymes with "tour") and I'm new here. Over the past 9 or so years, I've lead demand generation campaigns, launched customer marketing programs, and managed social media strategy...most recently at a Series D B2B SaaS startup. I'm located in the SF bay area (Hayward) and looking for my next role (layoff job seeker). Thanks for inviting me to this community, @Scott Stransky. Excited to be here and meet everyone!@Charlotte Weiss I'm so sorry to hear that and can completely understand why you've not been as active. Family and health are priority ❤️ Happy to have you back!
You too, welcome @Cynthia Cooper
Great to meet everyone!!
Hi all! I’m Leah, I manage Customer Comms at Sprout Social, based in St. Petersburg, FL 🌴
My background is in email & lifecycle marketing, and in this new position, I’m using that experience to build out a framework around how/when/why we (as a greater org and a customer marketing team) communicate with our customers. I’d love to learn more about how you’re all incorporating email & in-app campaigns into your customer marketing strategies, what’s worked/what hasn’t, and all things around programmatically communicating with your customers! Looking forward to connecting 😊
@APeacock hi! Thanks, so lovely to be here!
@Ciana Abdollahian definitely been a while! I moved home at the end of 2021 and my husband found he had testicular cancer not long after we moved home. He did surgery and chemo, and it's been a year since all of that. So I haven't been as active as I used to be on these Slack groups! Hope all is well with you!
@Joel Klettke So many! There's definitely culture shock when you move to a new country, but also reverse culture shock when you move back! Australia is more risk averse than the US when it comes to business and tech, though there's definitely more interest and investment in tech than when I left in 2017. There's a huge focus on work/life balance, with people actually having the time to spend with family, friends, or doing activities they like
It's a lot more laid back, less of a rush. But I think the fact healthcare isn't connected to your job in Australia has something to do with all of that.
I miss Boston though, I miss the passion and the excitement. But Sydney is definitely good for the lifestyle side of things.
Welcome, Jaz! So happy you joined. This is a great community, very helpful with resources!!
@Joel Klettke of course Joel send me your availabiity happy to connect with you!
Hi Charlotte!! Welcome! Long time no see. Hope you are well 😀
Hi friend! Glad you made it here!!
Welcome, Charlotte! Curious: what are the biggest culture differences you’ve noticed between a place like Boston and Sydney?
A huge welcome to everyone over the past couple of weeks - I have trouble keeping up with all the awesome marketers joining this community, so excuse the collective "hello" 🙂 But the sentiment is the same!
Hi everyone, I am Marisela Parra (Mari), Principal of Customer Advocacy & Adoption at Coupa Software. I initiated customer marketing at Coupa over 10 years ago (and didn't know it :)). . My background was a CSM, and SC. I currently live in Tracy, CA. I look forward to connecting with other customer marketers on best practices and how we can scale with now a smaller team 😞 .Hi everyone! And thanks @Kevin Lau for mentioning this on your LinkedIn page. I'm a Community Relations Manager and quite a Marketing and Customer Advocacy newbie. Joined the Advocacy team for Malwarebytes this time last year. Worked on B2B Advocacy and currently B2C and exciting new Employee Advocacy. I'm based in Germany since 2020 after living in Ireland for about 14 years.
Very excited to be here.
Hi @Mary Green (Owner CMAweekly) 👋 Great to e-meet you. I focus on the growth of our Core customer accounts, primarily small and medium sized businesses. I do this in a few ways at Qualia. Thanks @Ciana Abdollahian and @Danny Luu!
So glad you had a great time here too @Ciana Abdollahian! Lots of fun things to explore 🗺️

👋 Hi everyone! I’m the SVP of Uptempo, a marketing operations software company. Customer marketing is one of the portfolios I own (along with brand, demand, field mktg and corp coms) and currently only has one dedicated manager. We are trying a few new initiatives for Uptempo this year (community, CAB, new advocate blog series), and customers are thankfully one of our biggest assets 💜. Am keen to learn from this group on various customer marketing topics.
@Alison Bukowski I am in Austin but out of town today and tomorrow. Thank you for the offer though! Would love to connect with you after if possible. Side note: I will also check out your company’s website for job opportunities if/when they become available (none right now, according to the site).
@Todd Greenbaum Are you still in Austin? If so, I am leading a marketing event today, but I offered up a couple of spots to anyone job seeking who wants to network - if you're here and available, I can get you details.
Hello everyone - I’m excited to be a part of the community! I led the client advocacy efforts at a SaaS company called Bazaarvoice in Austin, TX several years ago and have since worked in a variety of other/similar marketing roles at WP Engine and Expedia. I’m actually on the hunt for a new company though, so will be keeping an eye out for opportunities, as I’m interested in getting back into client marketing and advocacy more specifically. Look forward to connecting!
Hi Everyone. I'm Hassan and I'm UK/EMEA based working for inEvidence - Customer Storytellers as an Advocacy Specialist. This is my second stint with the company and primarily I work with our clients managing their reference databases and reference helpdesks. I've worked on many advocacy databases from Quickbase, to RO to Gainsight as well as helped clients manage their databases and content as well as migrate to other platforms.
I'm here because as a customer advocacy specialist I want to give back to our community so any knowledge, experience I can share with you all or help you in any way then feel free to reach out.
What am I currently working on? I've been recently assisting a client who has moved from one platform to another so been busy migrating that data onto the new database, filming tutorials for users and showcasing the new features.
How can we help you? I think the best way to answer this question is to say it's all about knowledge sharing and transferring. I have a wealth of knowledge about managing clients data on various platforms and running reference helpdesks which I'm more than happy to discuss with people here and outside of that bubble it'd be amazing to hear what the rest of the people and this community are working on. Can't beat a bit of sharing best practice.
Hi everyone! 👋 I’m Camille; I have yet to introduce myself and am so thrilled to be here surrounded by bright and passionate customer marketers. I recently joined Quickbase as their Customer Reference Marketing Manager, coming from the absolutely incredible team at Zoom as Customer Advocacy Specialist. A few fun facts: I have a background in sales and marketing, am French American, and am located in Denver. And I love working with customers and sharing their stories!
Happy to connect with you all further on LI and looking forward to all the discussions here! We have big exciting goals at Quickbase this year, and I can’t wait to pick everyone’s brains here and share knowledge as we win together!
My LI to connect:
Hi Stephanie, so sorry for the delayed response but I’m still getting acclimated to slack :) I’m actually right outside of Boston. Where are you located? Great to meet you!!
Cynthia are you in the Austin area?
That’s a really cool doc @Matt Gardner thanks for sharing. It always helps when your team has a deeper understanding of what value your activities can bring to the table.
Thank you so much Alllison 😊
Hello everyone! Such a pleasure to meet you in this amazing community, which I have just discovered. I am Sonia Starova and I am managing Customer Advocacy program at Temenos, for almost 5 years now, based in Greece. Can’t wait to read more about your experience in customer advocacy/marketing.
Welcome everyone!
Thank you! Starting there it helps that the need for the role was a shared decision while I was still running the CX org, then realizing I was the best choice to build out Advocacy. Plus I'm a co-founder so if I agree with our CEO something is important it gets attention 😆
The other piece I think helps make this reporting structure okay with our board is that we have solid (and comped) KPIs for the role. I have an example year 1 project plan and KPIs at
that I'm happy to share! I think the sales-impacting KPIs really help getting the role recognized as part of the revenue puzzle and not a "we do it because I've been told we should do it" role.Welcome, Scott! Glad to see you on here!
Welcome, Matt! Looks like you are one step ahead of many CM folks! You report directly to the CEO. One of the big focuses of a lot of customer marketers is getting executive buy-in for their program, especially recently with so many layoffs and scaled back budgets. I'm sure as your role continues to evolve you will have a lot to share about your experience reporting directly to the CEO!
Welcome, David! Sorry you are having to wear so many hats right now! This is definitely the place to land for getting awesome ideas!
Welcome, Cynthia. Glad you have joined us! This is a friendly and helpful bunch! And to echo Mary, sorry you are on the market. Positive thoughts your way as you look for a new position.
Hey everyone 👋 It's great to be part of this community 😊 @Mary Green (Owner CMAweekly), thanks for the invite!
My day job is Directing Demand Gen (which included Customer Marketing in the early days) at PartnerStack, my early morning and evening job is being a dad to a terrible but adorable two year old, and my nights, weekends, and my any free time job is B2B SaaS Reviews, a website I run that's a free resource intended to pull together best practices and examples of how vendors get and leverage reviews. I just updated the
to clarify what it is and who it's for. If it's still unclear to you or you have any suggestions, please feel free to DM me!Also, for anyone looking to share what they know on the topic of reviews, please don't hesitate to reach out to me as I'd be happy to highlight you and your contribution on the site, as I do in my interview series, Views on Review.
oh how fun @Joel Klettke. Love that town. I lived in Capitol Hill. Hopefully things are defrosting for you…. soon!
Hi Mary, I should turn on my notifications 😀 I’m looking for a similar role that I’ve had for about 12 years: customer reference and advocacy for a tech company. Could be any type of company- small, mid size or large. Thank you for asking ❤️
Welcome @Darshil Shah! If folks have questions about building out an influencer program like the Adobe champs, Darshil would be a great person to ask having been part of it for a few years now
Thanks for adding me to the group, @Mary Green (Owner CMAweekly)! Hello all, I'm Darshil Shah. I work as a Marketo consultant at Deloitte India. I'm a Marketo champ, architect, and expert. I work on a ton of advocacy-related stuff for Marketo. So excited to be here.
What do you love the most about Customer marketing?
I love all the aspects of CM even though it isn’t my core area, I’m more of a technical marketing automation architect! I love how CMs are essentially at the center stage of a business and customers. They help companies build trust, loyalty, and advocacy among their existing customers, while also driving growth and business success. 🙌
What are you currently working?
Well, a ton of things! Helping a couple of Marketo clients setting up their instance, optimizing an existing marketo instance for one of the customers, prepping up for one of the deep dive sessions that I'm delivering in partnership with Adobe, and a lot of smaller customer marketing and general advocacy related stuff.
How can we help you?
Can’t think of anything specific rn, but I’m already loving the discussions going on in various channels! I’ll post in case I’ve any questions or in case see a question from someone that I can tackle.
Thanks again and so excited to be here. ✨
Hi Everyone! So great to meet you all. I’m Cynthia Cooper, I spent six amazing years building and managing a top tier Customer Reference and Advocacy program for Dell Technologies and for Progress Software prior to that. I really look forward to hearing from everyone on new ideas in customer marketing, tuning in to your podcast and webinars - and any suggestions for new roles that you may hear of. Thank you to everyone. Can’t wait to collaborate :)
Hi Alexie! How’s you?
Hi Matt! Actually, @Scott Stransky and I would love to chat with you about your thinking around advocacy reporting directly to the C suite. At the same time we can offer you some insights around maximizing your impact as you ramp up your program. DM us to set something up!
Adding here - after it was pointed out I may have been unclear - that we’d like to interview you to help validate our thinking, not sell something to you :-)
Hi all, I'm coming at Customer Advocacy from the CX side. My names Matt and I'm the co-founder of RouteThis, a series A company where I previously ran and scales CS and Professional services. We were carving out a customer advocacy role and decided I was the best fit, and in our org it reports direct to ceo. Very interested to learn more about what I could be doing in year one to maximize roi on my activities!
Hi friends, and thanks @Mary Green (Owner CMAweekly) for the invitation. I’m Scott, I run Full Funnel Content, a small agency serving the enterprise tech space. My wife and I currently live in Lisbon, Portugal after having relocated last summer (the rest of my team is still stateside) and are really getting accustomed to the Euro lifestyle!
What do I love about customer marketing? Getting to hear firsthand the impacts that teams, tools, and technologies have had on people’s jobs and, by extension, their daily lives. The icing on the cake is getting to tell that story a thousand different ways to a million different people.
In addition to our ongoing work with demand gen/content, product, and partner marketing teams, I’m working with @Elisabeth Catuogno and the SlapFive team on a new approach to customer advocacy and marketing that we hope can have a profound impact on how well people can do their jobs and how much they love the work. Otherwise, I’m still out there making new connections and looking to solve B2B tech’s content challenges one client campaign at a time.
Looking forward to sharing with and learning from you all (y’all?)
Hello everyone and thanks for the welcome, Mary! I’m a freelance customer marketing consultant working on advocacy and customer marketing programs globally from my home base here in EMEA. I’m originally from the SF Bay Area and my company is based there, but have lived in Italy for a long time, and I really enjoy working with people and companies around the world.
-What do I love about customer marketing? The customers! I have met some of the most interesting, quirky, smart, inspiring, funny people who’re doing amazing things with technology. I get so caught up in their use cases and stories that I often find myself telling one vendor’s customer about another vendor’s customer’s cool thing because the synergies are really just that amazing. I admit that’s kind of nerdy, but hey - I like what i do!
-At the moment I’m working with @Scott Stransky from Full Funnel Content and the team at SlapFive on a platform/advocacy/content CLG offering that we’re really excited about and writing some customer stories for a few clients on the side.
-I’m actively looking for a project or two and would love any leads that you might be able to pass along.
I’m always up for a conversation and am happy to lend a hand where I can!
Hello to you all!

I am currently working on planning our next CAB meeting (3rd meeting) scheduled for the 26th/27th of April so you can imagine it is nutty time right now

Hello everyone. Jon Ashley here, Director of Customer Advocacy at Elastic, formerly of Sage, and Cisco, son of Mogh, House of Martok, son of Sergei, House of Rozhenko, Bane to the Duras Family, slayer of Gowron. 20 points for a right answer on where the second half of the monologue came from. 🙂
Hey, everyone...yes, I climbed out from under a rock and finally got onto the Slack channel - and I recently took on the role of Head of Marketing at PeerSpot, applying an entirely customer-led marketing approach across the department. Just saying hello and can't wait to learn and network 🙂
Hi, I'm the Senior Customer Marketing Manager at Coconut Software. I've been on the Demand team for the last 6.5 years and ran our advocacy initiatives, launched CAB & community but have recently moved into an official CM role where I'm taking all the random asks & activities that have been happening and building out strategic programs so really looking forward to connecting and chatting with you all.
Hi all! 👋 My name is Emily Amos from Uplift Content. We work with high-growth SaaS companies like ClickUp, WalkMe and Okta to write customer stories, blog posts and long-form lead magnets like ebooks and guides. I'm really looking forward to learning more about all of you and this incredible field of customer marketing/advocacy.
Hello everyone! 👋 My name is Annapoorna (Anna) and I'm leading Advocacy & Community at Freshworks. Been in this role for the last 3 years almost and very excited to be here to meet with the rest of the community as we together try to navigate through this space, learning from and sharing with each other! 🙂
Looking forward to some good conversations here! 🙏
Yay @Logan Sandrock Baird is here! Everyone help me welcome one of my favorite humans who is now leading advocacy for Litmus!
Thank you! Those are both good things to focus on!!
So far my biggest tip is to network and do cold outreach. But I’m happy to chat more about it.
Hi Mary! Thanks for the response. I have been getting my feet under me this week, but am very interested in consulting opps. Do you have or others have any tips for being self-employed/doing contract work?
Hi all! 👋 Meaghan from Boston here.
In my 11 years of professional working, I've worked in marketing and service strategy roles e-commerce, services, and SaaS, most recently at Robin Powered in Boston. Sadly, as of Monday, I am on the job market as a result of layoffs.
I am now open to many new avenues! I love customer marketing, creating advocacy programs, content, customer campaigns, and managing NPS/customer voice feedback to improve the product. I would happily continue in this vein, but also am at an inflection point in my life where I am curious how to follow my other interests and try to bring them together (top other interests are foreign language, travel, exercise, and especially baking!).
I'm so grateful for these sorts of communities and looking forward to connecting!
Thanks, Joel!
Welcome, Marcus!
Thank you, Marie!
Hi, I'm in Terre Haute and also made the "second career" transition to EdTech at PlatformQ after spending a decade in higher Ed. I'll send a LI connection request and happy to help with an intro to any of my network!
Hey there! Marcus from Indiana.
After 20 years in education, I transitioned to EdTech and thrived as Senior Manager of Global Advocacy and Engagement at Instructure.
I was part of a large layoff at Instructure to kick-off the new year and I’m in search of my next chance to thrive.
I Love Customer Advocacy, building community, leverage social media and engagement strategies. I’m a published author and experienced podcaster.
In the meantime, I’m here to learn from you all and contribute in any way that I can!
Hey Kaily,
Yes, I remember 🙂. Cool beans! Glad to hear you're getting a chance to work with Eric again. I saw Dana´s LinkedIn post 😉.
Thank you so much
Awesome, thanks for the context! I'll send some things your way on LI
Hi Florian! We worked on a some recorded customer reference videos together (with Margie) when you were at VMware, it's been awesome to see where the team has graduated to now! Not sure if you still keep up with Eric Cole, but he's doing some exciting things with Marne Braise in his reference program (and with referrals) at his new org Abnormal Security. I feel like I can't go too far without bumping into a VMware grad. Congrats on your new opportunity!
Thank you for asking, Kaily! Ideally I would join a customer marketing team as I love to specialize in case studies, campaign management and events when possible. But I have extensive experience building programs from scratch, so for the right company I would be willing to be a team lead. I don't have a huge preference on industry or company size, but I have mostly worked at Series A-D startups about 100-500 in size.
Hi Audrey! Tell us a bit more about the next role you're looking for! Looking for a single person department role, or joining a larger team in a specialized position? Any preference on company size (startup - enterprise)? Any preference on industry? Happy to send over some opps and create intro's
Absolutely, let me see what I can do.
Oh yes, that would be great, during my time at VMware we also went through a major transformation from a regional customer reference team to a global team. I would love to share with others and get their perspective on different things as well when it comes to build a program from scratch (more or less :)).
Ahh, yes. Makes sense since we all have to figure that out and then share what expectations are for you and for them. We’ve had a few people in the community do this well in the last year. If you want to talk about it for brainstorming I can set something up. 🙂
Roles & Responsibilities 🙂
Hey @Florian Engel what is R&R in this context?
Welcome, Florian!
Focus is to build the customer marketing foundation with clear R&R, customer advocacy, review platforms etc. 🙂
Hello everyone, and happy new year 🍾! My name is Audrey, and I'm looking for a new job in customer marketing. I have 6 years of specific customer marketing experience, and I also have a strong events, PMM, and content background. I just moved to Brooklyn🗽, and I am loving it so far. Before that I was in Berlin 🇩🇪 for 3 years, and before that I was in San Francisco. I look forward to connecting with you - feel free to add me on Linkedin:
Hello from Germany 👋! I'm new to the party 🥳 and happy to be part of the community! I work at Aiven as Director, Customer Marketing. I've been with Aiven since December, before that I worked for VMware for the last 3 years where I led the Global Customer Advocacy team in my last role. I look forward to the exchange and discussion 🙂.
Hello everyone! I’m completely new to Slack! @Ari Hoffman persuaded me to join the ‘dark side’! We Cisconians are all about Webex! But I feel like we’re missing out big time not getting to hang with you all! So I’m here, trying to figure out how on earth Slack works!! 😁 😁
Realized today after talking with @Mary Green (Owner CMAweekly) that I never introduced myself I'm based right outside of Philly and currently the VP of Marketing @ Laudable but before that built Customer Marketing & Community functions at Peakon (Workday), Gainsight, and Hopin (+ some Product Marketing at Marketo). I'm super passionate about all things CMA but how sales & marketing can use customer voice to grow is really my jam ❤️
Thank you @Mary Green (Owner CMAweekly) for creating this energized group!! Thankful to be here, hello from Corpus Christi, TX 🏝️ I’m a sponge for all things CMA knowledge related and happy to offer advice on how to interview your customers in a non-threatening way that allows you to:
1) tie into C-level initiatives at your org, 2) identify the value customers would like from an advocacy program, 3) create content for marketing and sales all from a 30ish min convo with about 10 customers
Hey everyone! Excited to be part of this community. I work for Chargebee (subscription billing & management) as a customer marketer. 👋
Hello Everyone, so excited to be part of this community and getting more involved in discussions and knowledge sharing! I am the Global Customer Advocacy Director at SAP Concur (travel & expense software) #welcome
Absolutely! Once we allow non work email communities we can set one up for your community as well :)
Well Ty for joining. You’ll have to give us a wisq demo sometime.
I'm excited too, @Cara Peterson. Can't wait to see what Mary does with her own community.
Oh look at that, it's all my favorite people in one place 🙂

Seeing everyone here makes me want a meetup. 😂

Excited to be here, and thanks for starting @Mary Green (Owner CMAweekly)! Can't wait to see how you grow this from the ground up. You are doing such great things within the community. I'm located in Denver, btw, so if there are any others in this area please DM me. I've been talking to a few other customer marketers in this area and we are going to have a casual meet-up sometime in January. Would love to include others. Since diving into customer marketing, I haven't met anyone in person yet so the more the merrier.
