Wrapping up the workspace improvement plans to start building more programs and value-add experiences for members.

Why build that? Do customers want this, especially curious on that given that I know in some industries and communities that serve them that they wouldn’t want that experience to be solely among competitors in their space. Or is this solely a knowledge/resource hub but no conversations?

I’d do something fun to match the or 1 value prop of your product — example: Sprout Social could give away noise canceling headphones to them to help them folks on what they’re listening to like their listening product helps social teams listen to the things that matter and blocks the noise.

My POV would be to send it back with a clear deadline for review and a publish date set there for them, so it’s a forcing function to make sure it doesn’t miss that mark and drag out longer now that you’ve completed the request to be a good partner to them and their organization.

I’d phrase it nicer, of course, but that’s my positioning and thought process on it.

It’s a “closing the loop” sort of activity for that team.

I don’t believe Discourse was part of Influitive…

I thought it’s been 100% open-source based and independent in the space.

I’m sure it makes sense for Vista Equity to only have one community platform/company in its portfolio though…

I just say that I’m in conversation with other companies and varying stages.

If I’m excited by the opportunity and actually am far along with a process, then I’ll call out that I’m excited about the role and whatnot and would appreciate a swift process to make an informed decision.

It became “another tab” for members when I used it in partnership with Slack. Only was used for
events and long-form content (e.g., PDFs) that members wanted access to.

Otherwise, everything happened in Slack and it would’ve been easier and likely cheaper to invest in Slack and Tightknit than build on Circle, too.

Just got asked for a back channel reference for someone via a LinkedIn DM that I’m not connected to nor ever worked with.

If this is how references are being done in 2025 — I’m scared 🤡 🤡

If you’re doing a back channel reference via LinkedIn, here’s how to do it:
• Go to the person’s LinkedIn profile and jot down (digitally or physically, you do you) their past companies
• Go to your mutual connections with them and then put in the filter “Past Company” (1 at a time) their past companies that you noted
• DM those folks to get a back channel reference
