I just posted my thoughts and ideas for finding work in CMA based on the poll I ran last week where 46 people shared they were hired for CMA in the last year. I analyzed (lightly) the company names, employee numbers, and industries. Take a look and share your ideas for outreach to similar companies while searching for a new job in our space.
Great post @Kristin Blye - so easy to overlook some of those, for sure! Especially the DEFINITION!
@Sarah Koval on my team now manages reviews. 😄 She joined us recently. She would be best to sync with!
oh thanks, jeff!
Saw this a little late but love this concept
I work on reviews too and had some personal wins too (mostly on Gartner) but if you are happy, shall we sync and exchange best practices? But most important thing CONGRATULATIONS!
OK, Rachel Ward I am not, but you can steal what I have here:
And Rachel & Sarah can share their tips to build on that!
or, if she won't kill me, you can always connect with @Sarah Koval my Advocacy Manager who has recently taken over the program and could explain what we're doing 🙂 (it includes a large chunk of our customer marketing budget being allocated to third party reviews and incentivizing our CS team heavily to ask customers directly vs. campaign work)
Im PTO next week, but happy to connect.
Congratulations @Rachel Ward! Would love to connect and see what’s missing or can be improved in the strategies I’ve launched so far.
Thanks @Emily Amos. We're pretty excited to have hit the goal we set in less than a year. Appreciate the encouragement to brag ❤️
Amazing! And so great that you're tooting your own horn. We don't do this nearly enough @Rachel Ward
Congrats!!! Here's a
to track your weekly progress across all categories 😇Woo hoo!!!! Yeah!!!!
@Kate Kresowik Sounds like a nice shift in perspective! Should be interesting for you.
Thanks for sharing!
Can I get several likes or comments on this post?
Sharing 4 topics for my session on using Asana to be efficient and effective in your role happening on 1/16/24 ✨
Check out what they are & RSVP for it:
thanks for sharing, Ari - mad respect
exactly, so when you shrink the reach of who it pops up in front of, you directly shrink the amount of audience you can engage
An engaged audience should definitely be the driving force behind reach.
Well, I’ve noticed first hand on my posts that I share links to it that it shrinks and those that I don’t have much further reach. Considering I have an engaged audience, I trust my direct results and will continue the best practices I’ve seen
I’m not sure this is still part of the algo. I try to follow multiple authorities on this and haven’t seen it mentioned in a long time. I follow this guy a bit:
PS: I follow him, I read a lot about the algo from others, but I dont focus on the reach myself (when I post). 😄
News to me; thanks! Where did you learn that from? I've been trying to get to grips with the algo.
Sharing links to a post squashes its reach? Really?
I shared some of my hardships over 2023 and the takeaways I’m pulling from them. It’s mostly person, not work related, but it’s how I motivate through tough times.
Thank you, Emily!
Love this @Joel Klettke!
Thanks for sharing this @Todd E Jones
I mean, I can certainly try! Lol
great post!
agree with Todd on the image here
commented, looking forward to your answer 🙂
Help me get hired by Richard Millington - come comment my name here, please
This was a great post from @Kevin Lau
Agreed! Thanks for sharing Shannon and Kevin!
Here's my latest newsletter episode on Linkedin -
Thank you, @Bree Bunzel! If I can help or connect y’all with anyone, let me know — happy to help 😊
Congrats @Joel Primack! We were just discussing a strategy around this for 2024, perfect timing! 🙌
Hey all, I’m doing some very important (not) research here. Help out by voting.
@Gayatri Shukla yea absolutely that sort of risk-taking needs to be invited and celebrated for sure to create a culture that supports that type of behavior
Love this perspective, @Evan Huck. It sounds counter-intuitive, but so true. Not being afraid to take up space, take risks, and actively being part of the solution is so crucial.
I also think some of this can be inspired by leadership - where leaders cultivate + welcome entrepreneurial, solution-oriented and risk-taking behavior, and are willing to accept the 1/4 failure rate, and are able to see the forest for the trees. Speaks volumes about the future-readiness of organizations with leaders that do this!
By no means am I saying it’s “cool,” @Mary Green (Owner CMAweekly), just that it’s something I’ve seen recently in a few organizations and sharing why I believe it is happening.
Yeah but @Joel Primack it’s still not cool.
Thank you! @Joel Primack Jessica Day on my team may be joining, could you send an invite to us?
& ?Hey, @Bree Bunzel — That’d be amazing if you’re able to join while in NYC!
Content/Type of Event: A casual social hour for Community/CMA & DevRel professionals who bring members together through events (whatever that looks like at your org) to connect with peers and have a fun time out!
• No formal content/presentation or CR pitch/demo just a quick line I’ll say for their partnership with me on the tour.
Attendees: I announced the 5-city tour yesterday, so we have some early RSVPs in each city, but 1:1 invites will be going out soon to ensure it’s a well curated, valuable experience for everyone.
• When completing the RSVP form, you are also able to nominate a peer to join so you can bring a friend too 😃
If you want a hookup (translation = discount) with CR, just let me know as I’m a member of their referral program.
I wanted something that people wouldn’t expect to see in their LinkedIn feed. I needed to stop the scroll. I think that did it 😂
love the idea of booking someone like Thorgy to make the announcement - got my attention. How did you come up with that?
Accountability!
I do better when I have accountability or do things in a group.
Keep the ones you have!
"escalation of commitment" - love it!
Hi everyone! We launched a fun question on LinkedIn! Would love to know everyone answers in the comments! 👀
Thanks @Amy Payne! Ours are industry awards, so open to anyone to submit, but most of the submissions come from our customers and we always use social to promote - we have CSMs promote as well as we're all connected to a lot of customers.
But, most of our customer specific programs are a different story and we're always going back and forth on what is relevant there - so that totally makes sense! :)
@Ashley Ward - just Liked it - so weirdly we too just launched our program and really haven’t done any social given that it is to customers…this is interesting… I am thinking we need to rethink our strategy.
^ Phewf! And, you should apply!!!
Would love to sit down and chat with Leslie with a good drink and the ability to use my whole vocabulary. 😉
@Deena Zenyk - no, just that it's not the worst thumbnail ever created.
Thanks for the kind words about the post & my journey, @Alexie Glover!
I’d love to connect sometime — drop me a DM when it makes sense for you 😊
@Joel Primack love this! As someone who has been consulting for quite a few years (and learning from folks who have done it for their entire careers), you've highlighted a lot of super important points. I really appreciate the comment that consulting is not for everyone! Because it certainly isn't! Would love to chat further about your work and see if there's any possible synergies between what we're doing/offering. Always good to have other consultants in the the network.
Embarrassing but can y’all follow my other account on Linkedin? I need at least 150 followers to create my newsletter on LI.
@Ashley Ward's got so many great insights! Thanks for sharing @Shannon Howard
Fun question for your Friday:
Anyone too lazy to post on LinkedIn? I bought a lifetime deal with ContentIn and it offers prompts but I just dont want to get in there. 😫
Oh that’s all? LOL, sure, why not, here’s a few million, LinkedIn!!
Building an ad on LinkedIn and my budget is $750. LinkedIn pop-up says "We recommend increasing budget to $3,200" 😅
@Andru Creighton and I have heard the cries for help ... on building a reference workflow. So, we did something about it!
And, the best part about it? It's designed to work with any sales reference tool, even no tool, because we know the community is working with what they've got!! Would love for you to check it out, share your thoughts, and suggest what might be useful for you for our next post.Just feeling a Friday funny.... What marketing channel would you like to see actually die?
If you can’t have fun at work, why bother. Right!?!?!?!?
Any Love is Blind fans here? You’d be SHOCKED at the cameo prices for these people! In any case, I love Zanab on the show. Classy right til the end.
IYKYK!
Love that he added in "For the right reasons" 😂
I bought the Closely lifetime deal on Appsumo today. It’s only up for another day or two.
Would love to get the conversation rolling on
. Similar to my question recently about your fav customer stories questions, I'd love to know what your fav events-related metrics are! There's always so much chatter about the metrics that sales track from these events, but I want to know where CMA-ers are setting their sights.
Have you ever heard of a Barketing Team? My Senior Napping Coordinator would absolutely adore your support
.That's great, congrats!
Thanks everyone! I will continue to put out helpful newsletters and content! If you ever want me to write about something specific, lemme know 🙂
I have it bookmarked and at least go through it once a week 🙂
💯 percent been one of the more helpful resources as I learn this space and build a CMA program from scratch!
Good tip @Leslie Barrett!
Resharing never gets the attention it deserves. Create your own post then link original post in comments. Tag the author and others to create a conversation around it. The more commentors and your replies the better!
<!here> can you go onto my most recent post and scroll to my comment that has the registration link and like it so that it surfaces as most relevant
This is a great post for lots of comments (and people to connect with on LinkedIn). Responding to comments increases your exposure and helps you connect with new people you may not have come across before.
Hey all! One of my goals this year is to share more on LinkedIn about what I’ve learned, what’s worked, etc. I have ~300 ideas written down in various places. Need to not only put pen to paper, but learn how to actually write for LinkedIn (I’m used to longer form) and how to organize my thoughts so what I’m posting is worth following. 🙂
Anyone have good resources, ideas, or thoughts on how to do that?
I think it really comes down to:
• Organizing thoughts
• Outlining content to create
• Accountability to actually do the thing
this page looks great @Mary Green (Owner CMAweekly)
well organized and engaging. will continue to provide any feedback as I have more time to go through it.
I dont know how to message them.
This is so weird @Mary Green (Owner CMAweekly)
What has LI support said?
I really don’t understand because I’m not looking at a lot of profiles either.
Oh weird
So probably not the best idea to share your LinkedIn URL in an event, I’ve had too many views again- I’m off for 2 days 😞
Yes, that's a great idea!
Hey all, I have a lot I am learning about LinkedIn personal branding and thought we could all pow wow here. 😄
