@Lisa Wilberding the issue that might arise would be customers in EMEA as data sharing restrictions are a lot more stringent over there. Yay GDPR. I think generally in the US, you should be good, provided there's the disclaimer of 'emailing on behalf of...' somewhere in there.
(note, i'm not a lawyer, but i am related to a bunch of them)

Sorry @Taylor Page, been a little bit of a heads down day over here, but yes to <@U08MBG24LRM>'s point, i do run our CAB and we do have a hybrid approach. To be more exact here is what we do:
In-person
1-2 in person events each year co-located with our two tent pole conferences (one in ~April & one in ~October) -> These events are in-person only with no full day remote aspect. That said, we end the day with an AMA/interactive session with our CEO where we set up a zoom for folks who couldn't travel for whatever reason to join.
Virtual meetings
Up to 4, quarterly 90-minute meetings, focused on 1-2 subjects (so they can be 30-40 minutes per subject). These are generally structured with subject area co-chairs on our end who help us plot out the topics and then we make sure our co-chairs know they only should speak for 20% of the time. The idea here is that it is one large plenary session without any breakouts
Workshops
By the end of this cohort, we'll have hosted 3 of these series of events. The basic gist is that each is a 3-meeting series run by our Product and Product design team to help identify common problems on a shared subject that we'd like to be able to solve for our customers. Each of the 90 minute sessions includes 10 minutes of personal time to fill out a prompt on the subject and then we break into small groups (2-3 customers per group) and then identify common themes each of them have put on their own prompts. That goes on for about 20-30 minutes and then we spend the last 20-30 sharing as a big group. The last meeting in the series is actually where we put together a plan for how their consensus recommendation will make it on our roadmap and what it will look like. We've completed 2 of these workshop series so far and we've seen great feedback both from our CAB members and our product/engineering leaders who have joined in the discussions.
And since I didn't mention this before, I'll say this here...for our virtual meetings, we don't have any breaks built it.
The way I view it is that 90 minutes (so long as it's engaging) isn't long enough to require the break and in some instances can break the momentum and flow of the meeting which is then hard to get back.
Hope this helps.

<@U08MBG24LRM> has an example from a previous life where she built this.

It's been a while since I had a chance to contribute here, so I'm just going to start this thread and say...
Happy Friday, y'all! 🙂
And today, I'm thankful for the fact that my 17 month old son slept 6 hours straight (which means I got to sleep for 6 hours straight) for the first time in what seems like more than 6 months. Today really is a new day.
What is everyone else thankful for today? (Being Friday is a perfectly acceptable answer)

❤️ @Charlotte Weiss I know this feeling as though I don't live there any more, my parents were married at the Tree of Live Synagogue in Pittsburgh and my aunt and uncle are still members there. Tonight and for always, we light for you and for those who cannot

As the sun sets on night two...a very happy Hanukkah to my fellow tribe members.
#general - December 04, 2025 at 01:12 AM
But all joking aside @Mary Green (Owner CMAweekly), one big win this week was we just launched the 4th annual .
#general - December 03, 2025 at 08:50 PM
I could think of one 😉
#general - December 01, 2025 at 05:48 PM
❤️ you are all far too kind. Thank you. But more thank you for being an amazing community worth celebrating and contributing to.

@Alexie Glover are you talking public or internal pocket stories?

Now I've never had the pleasure of working with @Ari Hoffman - Amplitude in a 1:1 CMA perspective. But just from a personal standpoint, you won't find a more driven, empathetic, customer first human out there. So consider this my endorsement for and jealousy of getting to work with Ari.
Though I warn you, you're going to need to invest in some seriously strong coffee to keep up with him.

run it back

And beyond that we also gave out Plushy Grots (that's Grot in that picture above). Sorry I don't have a picture as the one i brought home is in my suitcase

Thanks for chiming in <@U08MBG24LRM> as indeed i am somewhere over Ohio right now I think. In fact, this week alone, at our two events, we saw 13% & 15% of attendees submit a GPI review, respectively. And at our big conferences this year, we had 18.1% and 18.4% of attendees submit reviews.
I'll second what you said <@U08MBG24LRM> as well as what @Emily Coleman said here. To build off of that a little more, we don't actually use laptops at our booth, but instead have the QR code for folks to fill out on their phone throughout the day. Fun fact, the GPI site doesn't timeout throughout the day, so you can tell people who come scan the QR code that they don't have to just hang out there for the 5-10 minutes it takes to fill out.
Just give them the instructions and to @Emily Coleman's point, our booth staff, including yours truly, will actually apologize to people about Gartner's interface and UX. That part gets a laugh most times and then people get on their merry way filling out surveys.
Happy to talk more about our process life or perhaps on a call at some point cc. @Mary Green (Owner CMAweekly)

@Jennifer Lyons we use Rev to do all of our transcriptions. It works really well and has some great AI prompts that you can use to craft first drafts of stories, summaries, etc

And as for a VIP 'bonding' social event, @Leslie Barrett, we actually have a private reception at the Tower of London the evening before the CAB meeting. Ties into the London theme, but gives them an experience that few will ever get on their own.
#cabs - September 25, 2025 at 06:54 PM
ooo nice! Would love to hear what you think <@U08V0DUNXQB>.
#cabs - September 24, 2025 at 11:18 PM
We're actually doing this next month @Leslie Barrett. Though we're taking advantage of the location of our conference to do a CAB along side of it, so ours is the "Library" of the Covene near St. Pauls. But there are certainly other good venues and places to consider depending on where in London you want your folks to experience.
#general - September 23, 2025 at 11:17 PM
I’m working @Amy so I got that taken care of

For anyone else who is celebrating...L'Shana Tovah and may 5786 bring you all a very happy, healthy, and sweet new year. And for anyone who isn't celebrating, I highly encourage you to eat like us today...Apples, honey, challah, the works...
#general - September 18, 2025 at 07:04 PM
@Dana Marlin To echo @Irene Yam, as we were setting up this current cohort of our CAB, we did do as many individual meetings as possible to go over the 'what are you wanting to get out of this experience' knowledge ahead of time.
We then used our first meeting to let these folks speak to each other about those same type of question and also added in questions about 'what keeps you up at night' and 'what are working on this year'. These questions led to a wonderful first meeting as folks realized how much they had in common with other members as well as seeded our future plans with knowledge of what topics/themes most/if not all of the membership cared about.
#general - September 16, 2025 at 04:48 PM
especially if those questions are about the Saved by the Bell references 😉

I took some of the speaker notes out since they were shorthand for my purposes, but if you want some more details that the talk track gave, I'm happy to give some more context.

ha not a bribe at all @Crystal Anderson. I should give you some tomorrow so you can shoutout how good it is from the audience on Thursday. Pre-seeding the advocates in the audience, right?
#open-share - September 09, 2025 at 07:56 PM
@Crystal Anderson guess who just picked up a case of our wine to share?

So sorry i missed it @Mary Green (Owner CMAweekly), There was a leak at my inlaws and they are abroad so i had to go over and work on some pipevalves. Looking forward to the recording.
#open-share - August 29, 2025 at 03:50 PM
@Crystal Anderson i suppose i could bring a case or two...plus they move my session to the afternoon on day 2, so more reason for people to stick around, eh?

Apropos of nothing customer marketing, one of the outside of work things I do is help make our family wine. And yesterday was bottling day as we bottled our 2023 vintage.
If anyone is coming to the CMA summit in sf and wants to try a bottle, that lineup is everything we have in stock at the moment.
#general - August 18, 2025 at 05:26 PM
it me

Well aren't you kind @Lauren Turner! ❤️
#general - August 11, 2025 at 03:56 PM
Thanks @Mary Green (Owner CMAweekly). And just a humble Monday morning plug if you have a moment to fill out this survey that would be lovely!
#general - August 08, 2025 at 08:17 PM
Hey y'all! I'm leading a session at the CMA Summit in San Francisco next month on KPIs in Customer Marketing. If y'all know anything about me, I'm on the controversial side of these debates around what we should and shouldn't be beholden to, so if you're going get ready for some 🌶️ takes, though I promise (and hopefully @Cara Peterson, @Shannon Howard @Lauren Turner @Alexie Glover @Crystal Anderson <@U08MBG24LRM> can attest) they are normally well thought out and argued.
But as I'm putting my presentation together, I wanted to ask you fine folks your thoughts on a couple questions around your own KPIs and perhaps which ones you wished you didn't have to track and even more spicy, which ones you are forced to track that you wish you didn't have to.
👉 👈
It's completely anonymous, so thanks in advance!

Sorry @Mary Green (Owner CMAweekly) as I was in a meeting, but looks like <@U08MBG24LRM>'s got you covered. The only thing I would say is that yes, we would all work together on certain projects (especially as the DevPrograms team is also part of marketing). But they aren't part of our Customer Marketing team nor broader Comms org.

And after 6 weeks, I’m officially back in the office, which means im also back here. Excited to reconnect with all you fine folks and chat all things CMA (I’ll also be at the CMA summit in SF presenting on KPIs - provided I actually build the presentation). But for now, I’m just glad to be back amongst friends. Oh and Jacob is now officially 1 year and 2 days old.
#general - July 15, 2025 at 04:31 PM
He’ll be 1 in 11 days.
#general - July 15, 2025 at 03:46 PM
How about Little Man and our little man together? Does that count @Mary Green (Owner CMAweekly) ?
#general - July 01, 2025 at 11:13 PM
Sweet. I’m speaking one of the days and will be there both days so it will be great to see you, @Kevin Lau

<@U08UZKKA7D5> so sorry as I’ve been dealing with a family emergency that then dovetailed into the second part of my paternity leave. We just finished doing this at our conference where we got over 100 reviews, 76 of them were approved and published. I’m happy to chat about it as well.

For San Diego, I was thinking the Birch Aquarium (I don’t know the cost but the venue is amazing)
