Thank you for doing this every week ❤️

Wow. Thanks for pulling this analysis together. Very interesting.
I’d love to compare this with how many are seeking new roles. Both currently employed, contracting, and unemployed.

I’ve posed the same question in another forum for feedback. I’m just curious, not necessarily interested in joining any new organizations just yet.
#general - August 14, 2025 at 12:48 PM
Are any of you members of Exit Five? If yes, how long have you been a member, and what do you find most beneficial about your membership?
#jobs - August 14, 2025 at 12:46 PM
<@U08Q1CSQD5E> I’m gonna post about it in the general channel :)
#jobs - August 13, 2025 at 10:38 PM
Is it remote?
#jobs - August 08, 2025 at 01:16 PM
Based on what I am learning from different channels, if you’re not ‘all in’ on consulting, it’s not the best idea to work 1099 jobs. I’ll stick to W2 only.
#jobs - August 08, 2025 at 12:10 PM
This post is unfortunately long, and pertaining to business entities and insurance. I have contracted for 6 months on 1099 in the past with no LLC or insurance. The only other time I’ve done contract work was twice on W2.
This week I interviewed for a fixed term contract which was a good match, but they ultimately let me know that in addition to an LLC (which I could get quickly) they needed me to have E&O coverage and I am assuming general liability.
For my own education how often is this an issue?
How many of you carry insurance for your contract/freelance work? And what types of insurance are typically required/recommended?
Is this commonly expected and how much do various business insurance cost annually?
For those of you who have insurance and LLC etc. how do you account for the cost in your pricing (legal, licensing, insurance, overhead)?
#jobs - August 07, 2025 at 05:41 PM
Are we still talking about Vercel @Cara Peterson? That certainly explains a lot.
#jobs - August 05, 2025 at 02:34 PM
If you are interested, I’d do a blind outreach to their CEO.
They only have 40 staff and this role would be the first marketer.
#general - August 05, 2025 at 02:24 PM
<@U08U4PV81KP> @Mary Green (Owner CMAweekly) but it gets murky. For example, artists style or likeness being used such as movies where actors are not compensated for the use of their likeness. It’s quite the grey area!
#general - August 04, 2025 at 07:57 PM
For our AI enthusiasts, I saw an interesting post in another channel for marketing professionals. Has this been an issue for any of you? Have you seen this trend of team shared GenAI accounts?
🚨 Ethical dilemma: Her boss just created a shared GenAI account, and now she’s expected to contribute her prompts. The problem? She’s spent years honing her language skills, and her prompts reflect deep intellectual training. Sharing them feels like giving away her thinking process—and potentially enabling someone to replicate her work without the skill behind it.
Has anyone else faced this? How do you balance team transparency with protecting your expertise?
#general - August 04, 2025 at 06:11 PM
If you haven’t already, I’d suggest asking in the Marketing Communications Women of Atlanta facebook group and also maybe in the Work From Homies Atlanta group on GroupMe.
Maybe PRSA and/or BMA Atlanta too.

@Joel Primack thanks for taking the time to respond 🙂
#10-community - July 31, 2025 at 01:52 PM
Received an email from Higher Logic today promoting their blog advocating for the use of an owned platform vs using facebook or LinkedIn etc. I didn’t read the email or blog, but my thought with VC, mergers, acquisitions, etc. is an ‘owned’ platform safe either? Just thought I’d throw that out for discussion, including how to continually evolve and future proof your programs in this context.
#general - July 30, 2025 at 09:30 PM
@Joel Primack would love your generalized take on the market. It seems like all the JD’s and the recruiters/hiring managers can ask for proven experience…as well as desire for specific tools used.
#general - July 30, 2025 at 08:04 PM
With the job market the way it is right now, I don’t think I’ll get the chance to try much in the way of community work without significant prior hands-on experience.
#general - July 30, 2025 at 07:59 PM
<@U07U1ME4ML0> thank you for the tips. I’d rather toe in the water and take the free course at Community Strategy Academy for now! Beyond supporting a community via Influitive five years ago, I haven’t owned community, but I think it’s something I would enjoy and I think doing some of the free courses will be adequate. I read David Spinks book years ago and liked it, but dropping $500 on another course right now isn’t something I want to do!

#cabs - July 23, 2025 at 02:43 PM
I guess my question to the community is is now the time to be idealistic or to do as asked?
#cabs - July 23, 2025 at 01:49 PM
Hi @Irene Yam I’ve had a question/discussion topic rolling around in my head for a while. I’ve not had the opportunity to stand up a CAB myself. Months ago I did a presentation about how I’d set up a CAB as part of the interview process for a job opportunity. I advocated for doing what I’d call a ‘real’ CAB that is a two-way, mutually beneficial conversation. I don’t think they liked that! My impression is that a lot of companies want a sales event which is called a CAB. So my question for you and the community, in this job market, should I tread lightly on how I’d approach a CAB and seek to understand what the company wants and speak only to that?
#jobs - July 21, 2025 at 03:22 PM
@Ciana Abdollahian nothing negative towards you, the recruiter, or the company. I appreciate your offer to connect candidates with this new recruiter.
#jobs - July 21, 2025 at 03:18 PM
@Karen Thomas yes, that is what I was thinking. It seems pretty common.
#jobs - July 20, 2025 at 05:19 PM
Just adding for color ;)
#jobs - July 20, 2025 at 04:23 PM
Thank you Ciana. The post on LinkedIn is flagged as remote. It was first posted 5/21/25. They also posted a customer evidence role in late 2023 and I am not sure if that role was filled.
#general - July 17, 2025 at 10:37 PM
It's difficult to explain to Europe-based companies that a CAB in the US should cover airfare and lodging.
#jobs - July 14, 2025 at 05:21 PM
Have you used it yourself? How much does it cost?
#jobs - July 10, 2025 at 06:08 PM
Great question. I watched a webinar recently that might give you some additional ideas. They suggested you could use AI to find jobs to apply to but this didn’t work for me.
#10-community - June 27, 2025 at 05:52 PM
Amazing. Thank you for this overview.
#10-community - June 27, 2025 at 01:18 PM
Hi everyone! 😊 Have you seen or created a document comparing the functionality of different community platforms? 📄✨ Also, is there a report that summarizes which major platforms work well together to provide a complete solution? 🤝😊 With all the new players plus changes with Influitive and Khoros, I am looking to keep up to date as best I can. Thank you!
#general - June 27, 2025 at 01:13 PM
Hi <@U07T66D33QW> wondering what you’ve learned from other Bettermode users subsequent to this post.
#10-community - June 27, 2025 at 01:10 PM
@Francisco Opazo can you elaborate on the pros of Bettermode for SaaS organizations?
#10-community - June 24, 2025 at 04:07 PM
<@U08R6SQJA4X> I too wish companies could just be satisfied to do a good job and serve a need, but sadly that’s PE and Khoros went from Vists to Ignite :(
#reviews - June 20, 2025 at 07:22 PM
Random question . Is creating dedicated pages for collecting Gartner reviews still a thing? I have a vague recollection from around 2022 that doing this earned you points towards something with Gartner, possibly one of their badges ? Someone had given me an example page for Informatica, I believe. The messaging was ‘we want to hear from you’ and ‘help your industry peers learn about solutions that can help them succeed’ or something along those lines. That landing page no longer seems to exist, and I’ve long forgotten who shared the example with me (I liked it a lot at the time and proposed doing it at the company I was working for) 💼.
Is this still something Gartner likes to see? 🔍 Do any of you still have one of these pages? Just looking to refresh my memory on this 📚. And if this is still a thing, would love to collect some current examples.

<@U07U1ME4ML0> no, I was just curious to learn what their focus is and what people think of them.
#general - June 16, 2025 at 06:01 PM
Yes @Joel Primack. Are they more oriented towards community and CX?

There are good and bad ways to use Asana. Your system should also be designed considering the size of the team and who is responsible for what.

@Lauren Turner I don’t think I can access that since I only have a free plan. It sounds wonderful.

Hello, fellow job seekers! 😊 Are any of you having success finding jobs with AI? If so, could you share your prompt(s) and which AI tool you find useful? 💼 I haven’t had any luck with LinkedIn’s new job search or using prompts in ChatGPT or MS CoPilot.

Artificial Intelligence is significantly improving. Both agentic and generative models are becoming increasingly advanced.
#jobs - June 03, 2025 at 06:23 PM
Well said @Joni Erdmann!
However, more and more marketing is not creative in the historic sense… it’s all about analytics now.
#jobs - June 03, 2025 at 05:53 PM
This is the role. I assume it’s a contract, but I could be wrong.
It just felt dehumanizing to refer to a prospective employee as a machine…especially in the context of AI.
#jobs - June 03, 2025 at 04:18 PM
Hello, fellow job seekers! 👋 I just saw a job post that said they are looking for an “execution machine”! How does this resonate with you?
#general - May 27, 2025 at 06:34 PM
Two touchpoints I had last week have me thinking about the future of customer marketing and customer success and the overlap in these two expanding roles.
This webinar from Gainsight: Growth Unlocked: How Top CROs Drive Revenue with Customer Success
And this LinkedIn post predicting the death of Customer Success by 2030
There are so many unmet needs within many organizations, and it’s a hot mess determining where various responsibilities sit. Is this purposeful today, trying to squeeze the most out of every headcount, or simple disorganized chaos?
