Do these salaries provided via the CMA 2024 salary report seem accurate to you? They seem very off to me based on what I am seeing in the job search. Are there other salary guides out there that are more accurate?
North America leads the pack – Customer marketers here earn an average total salary of $148,193, with Massachusetts professionals topping the charts at $186,111.
Europe sees growth – The average salary for customer marketers in Europe has risen to $98,588, up almost $20,000 from 2023.
Asia remains the lowest-paying region – Salaries have improved but still lag, with an average of $62,500, a jump from $50,000 in 2023.
Bonuses vary widely – North American professionals receive the highest average annual bonus of $15,357, while in Asia, bonuses average just $1,875.

Does the report break it down by level/title?

I'm not sure, do they mention how many people were surveyed? But it wouldn't surprise me if Massachusetts is the highest. The cost of living here is outrageous

I find this a bit off because it does not look at levels, locations and what types of companies. For example, this breaks down the salary by tiers:
Tier 1: $118,235 - $146,100
Tier 2: $106,400 - $131,500
Tier 3: $94,600 - $116,900
Also usually higher salaries are in NY and SF Bay Area- if you are in tech of course.

This came out early last year, right? I'm surprised it isn't broken down by title/level. Directors could be making 140+ but it isn't what I've seen lately.

I would absolutely take their reports with a grain of salt. In the past I would review them in advance as part of Influitive's CMA sponsorship and they never had a statistically significant sample size. I recall the 2024 report didn't even list the number of respondents which is a big red flag IMO.

@Melissa Meyer exactly, which is sad because it would be great if we had a quality report to go by.

Agreed. I would have loved to do one at influitive but it didn't feel right having a vendor collect financial data like that. Especially with the jigsaw acquisition that eventually occurred

Did slapfive update theirs from 2023?

If you look at the jobs posted over the past 6 months, most provide salary ranges. That's what I go by. The HR teams at the most of the companies posting the most recent jobs have done their homework an know what the current rates are in order to attract the best talent. Unfortunately the supply/demand situation allows them to offer lower rates but hopefully the job market will change this year.
