I feel like someone has asked this before, but couldn't find it - announced that we are being acquired by Vista today and would love to hear from others their experience with being acquired

I also think a lot of companies temporarily paused hiring while they waited to see how fiscal year would close out

@Evan Huck I would imagine because so many people are actively job searching that companies are dealing with candidates who are doing multiple loops at the same time and eventually have to decline offers

Great @Chris Wilcox I'll pass along your name! @Jennifer Lyons My guess is a candidate probably declined an offer but I'll see what I can find out

Had a recruiter / the PMM leader reach out from Pandadoc about a Customer Marketing Manager role. I just started a new role so I'm not interested but happy to pass along any of your names.

β€’ "Compensation benchmarked to San Francisco market - no matter of where you live (or move)!" β€’ "Annual compensation review, benchmarking to industry and inflation changes" Love to see companies doing this πŸ‘

@Nikki DuBerry I believe so

For those of you overseeing case studies, particularly _Enterprise_ case studies - a few questions. β€’ How many case studies per quarter do you typically commit to? β€’ How long does it typically take you from identifying a customer to publishing the actual case study? (Playing around with changing some Q4 targets and would love to hear what others are doing 😊)

This is so so helpful! It's a bit up in the air to say the least at BU made a big shift this year from having internal resources to everything being outsourced πŸ˜… Do you have any general estimates on hours required for writing? I've always done the first draft, internal reviews etc and then typically would hand off to content marketing for a period of time. Not sure what is typically reasonable from an hours perspective

Hi all! Budget question πŸ’° This is my first time being a part of an organization where all copywriting & design work is done externally (aka after I do a solid first draft of a case study, I'll need to leverage contractors to help get to the finish line) Anyone with experience leveraging contractors for copywriting and design? I have budget, just trying to get a sense of how many hours I'll need per case study.

I do not know anyone, but I saw Databricks just posted a senior customer marketing / advocacy role!

#announcements - September 13, 2023 at 06:32 PM

My current company does not use G2, but at previous companies I would: 1. Identify top 3 competitors in same categories 2. Calculate how many reviews they’ve averaged each quarter for the past year 3. Set a goal to hit 20% more than that average each quarter

@Mary Green (Owner CMAweekly) I'm interested in eventually moving more into traditional customer marketing / lifecycle (onboarding, adoption, retention etc) so that's what I'm most interested in hearing about!

Hi all! I realize I sometimes comment on posts, but haven't introduced myself. I'm Marissa πŸ‘‹ I currently lead customer advocacy & storytelling at BetterUp (previously at Benchling, Clari, Highspot and Microsoft) I own our case study & customer video motions, reference program, logo / naming governance, and will kick off CABs later in the year. I would say my 'area of expertise' is field enablement & securing customer executive buy in. I'm based in Tucson, AZ 🌡

Hi Cindy! I only focus on Enterprise, so here's a few thoughts: 1. Conversations about publicity / marketing needs to start early - is your deal desk / proposals team / sales team enabled with materials that speak to the value of publicity and logo rights when negotiating contracts? a. Include things like how many times customers have been featured in tier 1 publications, number of impression etc b. Speak to how content is great for brand building and reputation 2. Enable your enterprise post sales team with materials they can use during renewals, QBR's etc to start discussions around advocacy 3. When I pitch to Enterprise customers, I immediately present an outline of a work back schedule, expected time commitments, a draft of our Enterprise release form, and a list of partners on my side who are readily available to review red lines, meet with their comms team if necessary etc. I've found this to be super helpful with Ent customers, because then they can go back to their teams with a clear understanding of what's needed. 4. Finally (and arguably the most effective) leverage executive sponsors. Sometimes the sales teams don't hold enough weight, and you may want to try and leverage people in your C-suite or leadership team that have the relationships with the people who can give the go ahead on content.
