I’ve done both: in scenarios where we book, I ask the customer if they have preferred flights (and FF numbers) and work with a travel agency to set it up. The ticket is issued to the customer, so they can make modifications, check in on the app, et al. And Rebecca— yikes, I’ve been there. I know this is a big pain and not the best experience for your customer but hopefully it was smoothed over and now you have oodles of ways to avoid it in the future ☺️

Out of curiosity, why didn’t the customer want you to book the travel for them? (Echoing Daniel that Navan is awesome with guest links & the ability to set a budget!) For transport, I’ve done a mix of car service pickups and sending Uber gift cards in advance of the trip.

I haven’t, but I have had customers on calls with Gartner in the past :). Personally, I’m not sure how you would tactfully ask or find customers with Gartner seats (I.e., a customer who pays for Gartner reports, etc). Instead, I’d propose pre-arranged calls with some of your top customers.

You could also see if your AR folks can set up a call where you join WITH the customer to (a) set up intros and (b) make sure the call doesn’t go off course. I agree with getting the questions or topics in advance and having a prep call with your customer(s) to outline the call and what to expect.

Could you offer that they do a lighter weight Q & A style post on your blog (you send them questions, they reply, you post on your blog and attribute them as a guest author)? Lighter weight for you *and* they get the exposure of being a guest author?

Thank you!! I was thinking CMA bc it’s local to me and easier to justify bc it doesn’t require travel but also don’t want to pay for a lackluster experience when a few extra dollars would make a big difference :)

Hi there! Does anyone have experience with video software like vocal video or shoutout to collect videos from advocates in their own time? I’m evaluating options and would love to hear if these are (a) effective, (b) as easy to use and edit videos as they seem & (c) any experience with one vs the other. THANK YOU 🙏

For a 30 min Q & A, you’ll realistically probably only get to 3-4 questions, as you’ll want to expand on the responses :) (and one of those questions is likely a “Tell us about your role and XYZ company…how does Y (your business) fit in?”-esque question)
