I researched this method but was missing some pieces and this really ties everything together so i can share with my VP for planning.

Good morning and happy Monday everyone. I am working on trying to track influence, recurring revenue for case studies on our website as well as seismic.
Now I have some thoughts because we use WordPress, Google analytics tableau, seismic, Marketo and salesforce but I am not 100% certain how to implement it since I am not on the web and content team, marketing, ops team or sales ops team.
I have seen attribution of case study adoption tracked at HubSpot using HubSpot and Looker when I was was at HubSpot but since my current org does not use HubSpot, I wanted to ask if anyone has successfully tracked influence, revenue, and attribution for case study adoption in their organization, using the tools I mentioned.
Thanks!

A lot lol lol

@Chris Dalton we did that in my last company for logo, case studies and event attendance. RevOps was amazing for doing that for us
#general - August 21, 2025 at 06:43 PM
@Deja Darrington happy to talk through it via a zoom call with you if needed :)
#general - August 21, 2025 at 06:42 PM
Ultimately, if you pull them all now, manage them in a platform or in Salesforce, then add them going forward, you can just pull a report with customers that allow you to use logos :)
#general - August 21, 2025 at 06:41 PM
In the past, customer success used to help us track logo rights once the customer is out of implementation and we would manage it via AirTable

No, your instinct is right you always double check with the customer that their quote is being used and how it is being used. It would be irresponsible to use any quote even if it was during a public event in another way because he didn’t approve how you would use it or the context in which the quote was used.

Hi @Mason Sokana thanks for your response!
So currently I am thinking about on growth campaigns. How to get customers to by additional products or to move to a new UI that costs more...
#general - March 19, 2025 at 07:13 PM
Question for all you brilliant customer marketers
To measure your customer marketing efforts such as success of campaigns to customers, what tools would you recommend? Would you or have you used your normal CRM, Gainsight or something else?
Thanks!
#jobs - March 13, 2025 at 02:48 PM
I totally understand <@U08HAFNKLPN>, I am not either but sadly it seems customer marketing is becoming more of a space in smb and mm (my opinion only) to be more a copy and paste of demand gen instead of what customer marketing has been and probably should be...
#jobs - March 13, 2025 at 12:44 PM
<@U08HAFNKLPN> have you considered content marketing? With your experience in developing customer stories, you definitely have transferable and valuable skills to develop a robust content marketing strategy and team.

😳 that’s sounds so traumatic but sounds like it all worked out and you were happy :) that’s good
#jobs - March 12, 2025 at 10:53 PM
Who all interviewed you? And still for the new role, 20? Did they all have to agree on you?
#jobs - March 12, 2025 at 10:52 PM
20? Wow that seems a bit excessive no?
#general - March 12, 2025 at 09:38 PM
Yes! A dedicated booth definitely helps too! Also a QR code on signage would be good too

Hi Deja!
In your know before you go document, provide detailed instructions on how to access the community via phone or via a laptop without sso. Send the document a week or two before the vent and again the day before so it’s top of mind. Lastly, be sure to include contact information for someone who can help them on site if needed.
Hope that helps!

I am assuming budget reasons @Jennifer Lyons and I think it sadly may this way until the market shifts to an employee market again 😩
#jobs - March 12, 2025 at 08:10 PM
And we like it lol a lot of companies assume all marketers are extroverts, I am not one of them lol
#jobs - March 12, 2025 at 08:09 PM
... someone should let companies know that there are marketers who have been successfully remote BEFORE Covid
#jobs - March 12, 2025 at 08:09 PM
YW And I want to stay remote too PLUS Atlanta doesnt pay marketers very well so I try to work for tech companies based in other states who will pay
#jobs - March 12, 2025 at 08:07 PM
Sorry! I should have shared that Liz!! I will update
#jobs - March 12, 2025 at 08:04 PM
Yes! I am not seeing senior marketing roles but definitely not senior customer marketing roles and I am seeing a lot of Customer Marketing roles be a customer version of demand. gen which is super disappointing too....

HYBRID ROLE in Austin, TX, Tampa, FL or SF Bay Area, CA

While I’m not actively looking, i think what’s challenging in today’s market is not being pigeon holed. I love being a customer marketer but I’m no longer interested in just doing execution and i want to lead a team. So the obstacle is getting to talk to people, I’m networking now since I’m not an active jobseeker currently, and those relationships being an open door to a more advance role….

Omg wow this is amazing! Thank you so much @Heather Foeh

Hi everyone. Me again.
Happy Hump 🐫 Day!
I’m doing my annual career reflection, late as I usually do this on December, I would love to hear how people moved up or change specialties in marketing.
When you decided to move from individual contributor to people, when you decided you wanted to move from demand gen marketing to customer marketing for example, when you decided you wanted to create marketing strategies and no longer do as much execution of strategies created by others or something else.
I would love to hear how you decided to move to something else, steps you took to make your move, something(s) you wished you would’ve changed or done to be more successful.
Thanks in advance.
PS If you like coffee chats and would like to talk, happy to connect via zoom most mornings from 930am ET.

The rumor is marketers love to and need to be in the office to collaborate and be effective…
I actually hate the office, refuse to go back and are less productive
#discussions - February 06, 2025 at 02:12 PM
@Irwin Hipsman the tool to update, I don’t think they’ve updated all the titles but I was told they would use a tool like zoominfo or something similar for it.
I’ve had some clients more recently, that I’ve consulted with, that’s similar to this scenario so was wondering if I missed the practice of just duplicating prospect work to customer work ie buyer personas for customer personas.
#discussions - February 06, 2025 at 02:00 PM
Thanks everyone.
@Lauren Turner so you’ve actively created campaigns for example email customer upsell campaigns using the buyer personas created? Not using customer personas or something else?
Hi <@U07V02XU2CB> i hope you’re doing well! And you wouldn’t work to create new personas given that a customer would have different concerns about a product performance or knowing their overall goals after implementation than say a prospect?
@Irwin Hipsman you’re right. Of course everyone’s title was not updated, a vast majority were missing BUT RevOps was working on getting them inserted.
#discussions - February 05, 2025 at 05:53 PM
Question. How do you all use personas in your customer growth marketing strategies? I haven’t ever used buyer personas in customer marketing strategies, I’ve used user and customer personas created with the CX org but I’m hearing an organization wanting to use buyer personas for customer marketing so curious if that’s a new best practice

What’s also interesting is that I notice it’s mostly smaller companies wanting these detailed assignments so it’s seems it’s about getting the labor and not assessing the the talent.
And i wonder as you mentioned @Megan Donaldson at Zoom with the rise of AI will assignments truly be effective in knowing if talent can truly to do the role being hired for…
Overall, I wonder if assignments should be eliminated as not only can some potential staff learn the role and honestly people seemingly aren’t l promoted for being the best at doing the work rather for who thinks they have great leadership skills… not that everyone should be a leader but I mean hiring such niche staff will backfire in the long run…
#jobs - January 24, 2025 at 08:19 PM
@Lauren Turner I offered a company past work and they refused so I definitely turned them down without even thinking twice because they refused to pay
#jobs - January 24, 2025 at 05:52 PM
I had an assignment and they said to me to spend no more than 30 minutes on it and I did.
Another company asked me to do an assignment that expected longer, about 4 hours and I asked if they would compensate and said no and I removed myself from consideration.
One company has offered to pay me for what they thought was 2-4 hours of work after I asked. They asked for my invoice and w9.
Not sure if that helps any.
#jobs - January 24, 2025 at 04:02 PM
Honestly I don’t think it’s reasonable but if Zapier is their dealbreaker then I see why they included that… honestly though they must be willing to compensate above market average if they sent that assignment and have those overall expectations for the role
#jobs - January 24, 2025 at 03:48 PM
@Mary Green (Owner CMAweekly) i definitely thought the time was way off on the whole assignment too… i was thinking this is a full day of work at least
#jobs - January 24, 2025 at 03:47 PM
I will say I have the experience for most of what they ask but wouldn’t take this job because these skills are designed for a team. I got most of my experience doing this work form working different roles at different orgs not one role
#jobs - January 24, 2025 at 03:38 PM
I mean in good faith it’s more than fair to ask their budget to pay and how they plan to use it as you may be misaligned in terms of their expectations or budget… if they were getting snarky, then they may pay something less than a $600 because they are expecting a lot of work and detail… also they should document in writing this is only to access your skills for the role… if not then not even worth stressing over, if you’re stressing at all lol hopefully you’re not stressed though

Love that so many people have so many great ideas!! Thank you so much.
So because I was originally hired to focus on growth and the company is starting to launch new products, I think I can build and automate a drip campaign but not the one off requests I get for customer emails such as outages or simply sending blogs posted when they go live which I don’t suggest since the blogs don’t provide customer value.
I suggested an onboarding email journey, created a deck for it, and I created and onboarding email journey in the past for a company in 2020 and was told no multiple times but can try again.
We don’t have a community per se, I’m working on inviting customers who attended our customer event to the LinkedIn group created exclusively for them and working to create content that is relevant and hoping to convince leadership to make the group for all customers to be more effective. As far as acting as an agency, I’m getting a lot of pushback with consulting and told to fulfill the requests being sent to the team and myself versus sharing my expertise but I keep sharing just in case at some point I’m heard. :)
Ironically I asked about other comms channels last week and this week. The CSMs are for some reason having difficulties being open to partnering with me, with leadership having been gone, and instead have voiced since about July, they only want my support in sending their emails but I’ll talk to my manager to see if she can help me reach them.
I have a meeting with the social media manager today so I can ask her today.
Thank you so much again!
