I feel your pain. Keep pushing! The market is so different now and salaries are so much lower! It’s not you! I was offered a role just before Christmas but the salary was laughable so I rejected it. It’s still live. Some companies just want the cheapest option nowadays.

So I received an offer for a Customer Advocacy Manager role yesterday at Virgin Media O2. I specified my salary expectation in the application as it was a mandatory field so figured they would be able to meet this expectation before starting the interview process which involved a presentation. What a waste of my time!! When the recruiter called with the offer it was £30k less than what I specified. I told them it was too low and she said she’d see if they could increase the offer. 30 mins later I got a generic email saying my application was withdrawn. Then an anonymous text this morning saying sorry but we are unable to meet your salary requirement for the role. I think I dodged a bullet if that’s how they operate!

It’s frustrating that all the good senior customer marketing roles are predominantly US based. I struggle to find suitable senior customer marketing roles in the UK. It’s making me think about changing career maybe into Customer Success. Has anyone got any tips for making this transition?
