That's a new one for me. I'd want to better understand where the person providing the objection is coming from before pushing back. But one option could be in how the review request is positioned. So less about "we value your feedback to improve our product" to something more like "Your peers would value your opinion on {YOUR PRODUCT NAME}. Be a contributor to your peer community by providing your opinion on {REVIEW SITE}."

Perhaps you could consider setting a ranking goal so it's less about the rating? e.g. improve from X place to Y place in your category on your main review site(s). You'd need a balance of quantity and quality to move up, so it might provide a middle ground for you two.

At PartnerStack's customer conference, we had our Director of Product Management present recent product developments and what's ahead on the roadmap.

is this the most-liked post of all time in the community? 😆😬

Working on wrapping up a couple of "Views on Reviews" interviews with @Axel Lavergne and @Alexie Glover . My one question would be, who would you like to hear from on their views on reviews? (i.e. who do you think would be a good interviewee on the topic of reviews?)

Good call!

@Meg O'Hearn I tried SourceForge back in 2021 and it didn't work at all for us (PartnerStack). In my experience, they greatly overpromised and underdelivered. They estimated an avg of 600-1000 clicks per month for us but we only had 40 landing page visits from them in our one-quarter trial period. If you're considering them, I recommend running some Google searches for your buying terms. I tried a couple myself for Tines, and didn't see SourceForge come up (see attached). If they're not ranking in search for key buying terms in your category, they very likely won't perform for you. And there's probably half a dozen other review sites to prioritize ahead of them.

I was trying to get this launched at PartnerStack, but our customer contract Ts and Cs would require opt-in permission to share out customer list with the Noble app. Unfortunately, that was a dealbreaker for us. I love the idea, wish we could have tried it.

+1 on running a 1:1 review request campaign. It's manual, doesn't scale, and requires cross-functional collaboration, but it might be well worth it if you're not getting the results you need with 1:many requests. Looking at the Sonatype reviews on the top review sites that come up in search, it looks like a small number of reviews would potentially result in big jumps in rank given the relatively low review counts in this space.

But other leading peer review sites like G2, TrustRadius, and PeerSpot and analysts like Forrester and IDC are generally separate from one another. (Some exceptions: e.g in the go-to-market technology niche, the analyst firm GTM Partners leverages G2 peer review data, so there's mutually beneficial relationship there, too, if you're in that space)

With Gartner, it certainly is. Their Magic Quadrants use Gartner Peer Insights (peer reviews) <https://www.gartner.com/en/products/peer-insights>. It's arguably the main reason why one would collect peer reviews on Gartner Peer Insights (not to be confused with Gartner Digital Markets, though 😵‍💫).

Shannon was great to interview! She had great insight to share, and gave me a laugh in our chat, too. 10/10 guest!

I'm super late here, but with G2, I've gone from free tier, to buyer intent, to licensed content package. Happy to chat with anyone on my experience with that.

I've looked pretty thoroughly into software review sites, and I didn't come across Wheelhouse. I agree with Shannon; it's not worth your time. I'd stick to the sites that appear on the first page of search results for "QuickBase reviews."

Great job, Mary 👏.

Interesting find! _Viff is a simple browser extension._ I wonder how it would do with software reviews? Now to find time to try it 😅

Does anyone have a view on responding to user reviews in B2B software? Better yet, have an example of what good looks like? In B2B, responding to reviews, at least publicly, is the exception rather than the rule, which seems odd. I worked with a freelance writer on a piece to research the topic and find real examples of good review responses. I think she did a great job with that task, but I'm still wondering what B2B customer advocacy folks think about responding to reviews and what good looks like to them. I'll admit, I have no direct experience on this topic (and I worked at Influitive, where I don't recall it ever coming up. They do respond to some reviews now, and Alex seems to be doing a good job with it). I'd appreciate any insight the community can share here, and I'd happily include it in the post. Here's the [post](https://b2bsaasreviews.com/how-to-respond-to-reviews/), which could use more real-world insight. I hope this doesn't come off as a promotional post. I'm looking to level up the post so it's more helpful to the community.

I was also recently pitched by them and wondering about them, too. At first I dismissed them immediately because I hadn't come across them in search for our buyer terms. They had a good counter to that: "we are typically found through things like your company name and the word "references" or "testimonials" or "case studies." Sure enough, they do rank highly here... "Their" content seems to be scraped from other sites. The references, testimonials or case studies seem to be from a vendor's site. The reviews seem to be an aggregate of multiple review sources @Evan Huck. Their paid offering doesn't exactly give off warm and fuzzy vibes.... They "unlock" your content on their site.... When it's locked, they show 2 testimonials, case studies, and customer videos. When unlocked, they show all of that type of content that they gathered on your company. They also remove competitors from your profile. A competitor can pay to be listed on your profile. As they pitched it, "62% of the prospects that come to your page, don’t see enough of your content, and are bouncing to one of the competitors listed." So they set it up to have the locked content cause friction that leads to (paid) competitor pages. I'm currently working for a vendor (PartnerStack) who is in a very competitive space, Partner Relationship Management (PRM). One of our competitors is paying to list on the PartnerStack profile on Featured Customers. As Featured Customers pitched it to me: _Partnerstack currently receives 175-300 views a month._ _(Our competitor) as a free vendor received 200-300 views a month, (Our competitor) as a Premium Vendor receives 300-500 views a month. Once (Our competitor) began sponsoring Partnerstacks page the numbers moved to 375-725 views a month based on the bounce rate averages._ Other benefits they list: • _Ability to be in multiple categories which will further enhance visibility._ • _Premium vendors are always at the top of each category:_ • _Linkback to your corporate website_ • _Real Time tracking within portal in terms of traffic coming to your FeaturedCustomers profile page_ • _Assigned dedicated Customer Success Manager. Their objective is to ensure that premium vendors are maximizing the platform and all of the benefits. They also will do automatic updates (No extra work on your end)._ • _Full Licensing rights to upcoming Customer Success Reports and Platform Achievement Awards. Award badge, social media graphic, and press release template provided. Ability to host the report behind your own wall or gate to utilize however you see fit._ Their pitch to us was 4-figures for the year. We're not moving forward with it at this time.

Hi @Deena Zenyk! Happy to be here, though I think we accidentally slid into Sonia's welcome thread 🥴 😆- Welcome Sonia 👋

Hey Harikrishna, I'm a few months late here, but better late than never, especially since review generation is always on or just around the corner 😅. You can find in-depth answers to your questions on B2B SaaS Reviews, especially in _[ How to get reviews in B2B SaaS: 8 proven examples](https://b2bsaasreviews.com/how-to-get-reviews/)_ and _[How To Generate, Leverage, and Measure Reviews: A Practitioner’s Guide to B2B SaaS Reviews](https://b2bsaasreviews.com/how-to-generate-leverage-and-measure-reviews-b2b-software/)_.

FYI, Here's my most recent attempt at positioning statement using Geoffrey Moore's framework: For (target customer) • For Customer Marketers, Founders, and other business software professionals… who (statement of the need or opportunity), • Who know reviews are important for their business but aren’t sure how to best go about getting them and leveraging them… (product name) is a (product category) • B2B SaaS Reviews is a free resource… that (statement of key benefit — that is, compelling reason to buy). • That pulls together best practices and examples of how vendors get and leverage reviews. Unlike (primary competitive alternative), • Unlike the business software review sites on which you get user reviews, B2B SaaS Reviews is a neutral third party to help you navigate where to get reviews and how to prioritize your resources on them. • And unlike blogs, podcasts, and communities that focus on everything related to a specific function like Customer Marketing & Advocacy or Demand Generation, B2B SaaS Reviews is laser-focused on one topic, reviews. our product (statement of primary differentiation). • to provide the best practices, processes, and tools to help business software companies get the most from user reviews.

Hey everyone 👋 It's great to be part of this community 😊 @Mary Green (Owner CMAweekly), thanks for the invite! My day job is Directing Demand Gen (which included Customer Marketing in the early days) at PartnerStack, my early morning and evening job is being a dad to a terrible but adorable two year old, and my nights, weekends, and my any free time job is _B2B SaaS Reviews_, a website I run that's a free resource intended to pull together best practices and examples of how vendors get and leverage reviews. I just updated the [homepage](https://b2bsaasreviews.com/) to clarify what it is and who it's for. If it's still unclear to you or you have any suggestions, please feel free to DM me! Also, for anyone looking to share what they know on the topic of reviews, please don't hesitate to reach out to me as I'd be happy to highlight you and your contribution on the site, as I do in my interview series, _Views on Review._
