Hi all! I was a guest on the Empire State of Grind podcast recently and it launched today. Would appreciate you checking out this brief clip about why CEOs should invest in the customer marketing function:

i share this pet peeve, and i know multiple CEOs of public SaaS companies who also hate it and actively call out their teams when they see stock images instead of real customer or employee photos.

Thank you, @Mary Green (Owner CMAweekly), for the incredibly hard work you do to make this a vibrant community. What I especially appreciate is that this feels like a place where people can be themselves and share openly and honestly. It is so hard to nurture a community like that, and there are so many things you have done behind the scenes that make this possible. So - thank you for the opportunity to sponsor this community.
A bit about me:
Personally, I live in NYC with my wife and our two very mischievous, very active sons (6.5 and 5 years old). I love reading, writing, and playing board games with my wife and sons, who always seem to find a way to beat us at UNO. I also love memes and meme culture; you better believe our "memes" Slack channel is very active at Peerbound.
Professionally, I have been in the B2B software industry for 12+ years now. Peerbound is the second company I’ve founded. My first company, ZenPurchase, was sold to Coupa in 2015. I was at Coupa through their IPO and had a bunch of roles across sales and marketing. Then, I moved to NYC and joined Braze in 2019, and was VP of Product Marketing and then GM for their global SMB business unit (led the global sales team, customer success team, and marketing team for that business - 80+ people globally). Braze also had a great IPO in 2021.
Peerbound aims to solve the biggest problems that I faced in my previous roles (which we finally can thanks to the major advances in AI), and in doing so, I know we will connect customer marketers directly to revenue growth and prove the value of this mission-critical function. We believe three things are true:
- The future looks a lot different than the past for customer marketers.
- The future looks a lot better than the past for customer marketers.
- The future (or at least the outlines of it) is already here. As Mary mentioned, I would be delighted to have a chat and share my thoughts on the future of customer advocacy, and show you a demo of our product if you’d like to see it. You can check out and sign up for a 1:1 demo with me if you'd like to.
Thank you again to all of you, and to Mary Green, for this opportunity to sponsor. Looking forward to playing our part in helping every customer marketer achieve their full potential. Let's go! 🙏

Do you use Google Slides or PowerPoint at work? I have a 150-slide "presentation" with templates of different types of visuals that you can bring into your own company's presentations easily. Please DM me if interested.
My favorite book on presentations is an old one (the author has passed away but I had the privilege of learning directly from him when I worked as a consultant):
