1: Definitely how we are influencing revenue. A funny story- I work with out data team a lot on reporting and yesterday they asked me what was the best way to track impact on the data reports they are supplying us. So it is not only CMA- now everyone is trying to identify tangible value metrics about their work.

@Maura Frost, I talked internally with our own developers, and they said they go to Reddit, Twitter, Medium or their own network.... Also, when I talk to customers, I ask them. So I did not have to make a strong case for it since "we already knew" We are driving some reviews to G2 so we dont stay behind but nothing very elaborated.

Thank you all! I need to test to see if our customers would actually leave us reviews since we sell to engineers, developers, scientists... From what I have gather from conversations with them, they do not go to sites like these to read about a product. They use Hackers News, Twitter (lol) and their networks for that... So I am thinking to start just with an email campaign (I will run with a thank you gift or something) and see what sort of responds we see mainly because we dont want our competition to have all the reviews (but our space is very new). I also need to understand the intend data more. AGAIN THANK YOU!!!!

Thank you all!! Good to know. We are not leveraging reviews and when I asked our customers (who are developers) they don’t go to these reviews sites…. But we don’t want our competitors to have all the reviews and we don’t have any. So it is more about that than actually leveraging them with our customers.

I am planning our customer session for SKO in February too! We are planning to do a customers panel with 3 customers where they will share more details about their use case and really focus on the persona (how do they evaluate new technology and new vendors to really understand their decision making process as this is very GTM oriented event) - I am planning to cover all their travel expenses plus host a cocktail hour with customers + our executives and their AEs right after the panel. Would love to hear / share more ideas!! 💡

All Joel said! We have it connected to LinkedIn, Twitter and Khoros- and we are in the progress to integrate it with our CRM. We also get alerts directly on Slack so we can keep track of our active advocates on social. Also, we have also sourced a few great customer stories this way :)

Something that has really worked for me across all my companies, despite of how customer marketing was defined, is being a great storyteller. This is not the same as being a good writer. Being able to capture and develop and restructure stories that will resonate with different audiences (prospects, customers, analysts, media, investors and internal teams) is gold plus this also translates to the way you get buy in for your programs from different stakeholders.
