Hi friend, great to see you here!

#chatgpt - June 27, 2024 at 02:28 PM

@Cristina Levenetz have you looked into CastMagic? Might be a better and more direct path to what you’re looking to do.

Why not let them pen it themselves as a blog post? A first-person story could be even more relevant and impactful than a typical corporate style case study even if it’s from a small brand. And super bonus: they’re doing the heavy lifting.

Welcome, Maranda (even if you are a Chipp! Go EMU!)

Mirroring Laura’s comment. Many of our clients ask for sales slides and maybe an additional quote or two. However, I think the best approach here is the simplest…ask the sales team what they want or need instead of guessing. If you can’t get a straight answer from the sales lead (and it’s likely you can’t/won’t), the What, Why, How messaging framework could be helpful in guiding you toward the types of information a prospect may want to see during the purchase cycle. What: is the product/does it do? Or what do your current customers love about your solution/team? Why: is what you do different, better than other options on the market? Or why did your current customer choose your company over other options? How: is your company or product uniquely qualified to solve the prospect’s biggest business and job challenges? How do your current customers use your services/products (in detail) to do their jobs better, smarter, faster, etc.? The result is that you may end up with some audio and video buyer’s guide-style assets, or a how-to guide driven by your existing customer use cases, etc. Complements well the sales slides and other more prototypical sales enablement assets.

You’ll likely also want to ask what CS and other teams can do to help surface specific challenges, questions, or issues existing customers have been focused on recently so you can use that to target upsell/cross-sell and net-new traffic.

Obrigado! And yes, quite the change. Some decent breweries here, but nothing like the Front Range

Lisbon.

But the wine in Colorado just cannot compare!

#denver - January 03, 2024 at 10:35 PM

That I miss DBC (and all the Denver breweries) since we moved. Just finished a crowler from Cheluna to celebrate NYE..and made me miss it even more. L’sigh.

Gonna message tonight!

I’m *dying* to do this with clients. Off the top of my head, the microstories I’d love to tell: • Problem recognition and pre-sales experience • Evaluation/selection process — including a deeper look at chosen solution vs. others on top 3 criteria • Implementation/deployment planning and post go-live experience • Step-by-step (as much as customer will allow) explanation of how service/solution was used for a specific goal/problem.

@Kati Jacobson figured as much. Hope you get the answers you’re looking for!

#denver - September 20, 2023 at 04:26 PM

@Allison Hughes I am, but we’re leaving first thing Saturday morning. We got in on the 8th, but it’s been a whirlwind and we haven’t been able to squeeze in everything we thought we could. 😞

#denver - August 28, 2023 at 04:26 PM

Uuuugh. Booo. Feel better!

#denver - August 28, 2023 at 04:05 PM

@Allison Hughes thanks. surgery went well. recovering. looks like we’re rebooking the trip from 9/8-9/23. Hooray!

#announcements - August 23, 2023 at 01:50 PM

Maria, fantastic. If you and Michelle are both interested,, let me know some times next week and I’ll set up a conversation. No hard sell…just discovery.

#announcements - August 23, 2023 at 01:16 PM

Hey Michelle, I have a contact who used to have a “spreadsheet on steroids” solution for managing customer touchpoints. If you’re open to it, he and I would like to hear what kinds of functionality you want so we could re-introduce it. Might be just what you’re looking for.

#denver - August 20, 2023 at 11:45 AM

L’sigh. So, after all this excitement and planning, it looks like I won’t be able to attend after all. My wife is having surgery tomorrow morning and won’t be able to travel at least for a few weeks. So our trip back to the US planned for this week is getting pushed back a few weeks (potentially even another month). Hope you all have a great time anyway.

Like everyone else, we’re using it mostly for summarization and grammar/tone smoothing. In the future, though, I anticipate using it to identify, select, and infuse existing customer evidence into other marketing assets like what demand/content or product marketing teams might create.

#jobs - July 26, 2023 at 07:27 PM

Never mind…I see why now. DM me. I may have a contact there who can help

#jobs - July 26, 2023 at 07:26 PM

#denver - June 29, 2023 at 06:58 PM

@Robin Raulf-Sager Some days I really miss being able to go to our place in Grand Lake. L’Sigh.

#denver - June 29, 2023 at 06:55 PM

#denver - June 26, 2023 at 10:32 PM

Can we do one very late august ahead of Labor Day? I’ll be in town 8/25-9/4 and would love to get together.

#jobs - June 20, 2023 at 08:24 PM

@Nour Sadek

#denver - May 24, 2023 at 02:25 PM

Awesome, thanks Allison. So, I no longer actually live in Denver. My wife and I moved to Lisbon a year ago, but still have our house in Denver, condo in Grand Lake, and all our friends and family there. I always try to keep tabs on the hometown and we’ll be back for a multi-week visit around Labor Day. If there’s a meet up then, I’ll definitely attend

#announcements - May 05, 2023 at 05:19 PM

Alexie’s idea is excellent. Curious, though, why do you have to wait for a certain amount of time to pass for new customers to be ready to serve as an advocate? The entire lead up of the buying process and purchase decision is as important (if not more so) to many would-be buyers as the stat-heavy uses we all love to write about 6, 9, 18 months post-deployment. Engaging them just as they’re starting their journey not only confirms they’ve made a great decision to work with a vendor that truly values them and is excited to work with them, but it also gives you a built-in excuse to go back to them several months later (sans calendar reminder) to update their story to show the evolution of what it’s like to be your customer.

#announcements - May 04, 2023 at 11:33 AM

IMO it feels too “marketing-y” and sales-y. I don’t view customer stories through the lens of SEO or other TOFU metrics. Chances are that if someone is taking the time to read a customer story, they: -already know they have a problem -have already read through some sales materials on the website -already know what type of solution or which couple of solutions they may want to investigate -are looking for validation that about the buying experience and outcomes of that decision. TL;dr, keep the goal the goal and leave out anything that could be perceived as too salesy/overtly marketing-y

Hi @Jeanne Talbot do you know if the location is a dealbreaker? I have a Denver-based advocacy pro who’d be ideal for this role

#welcome - March 31, 2023 at 12:08 PM

Hi Alexie! How’s you?

#welcome - March 30, 2023 at 09:03 PM

Hi friends, and thanks @Mary Green (Owner CMAweekly) for the invitation. I’m Scott, I run Full Funnel Content, a small agency serving the enterprise tech space. My wife and I currently live in Lisbon, Portugal after having relocated last summer (the rest of my team is still stateside) and are really getting accustomed to the Euro lifestyle! What do I love about customer marketing? Getting to hear firsthand the impacts that teams, tools, and technologies have had on people’s jobs and, by extension, their daily lives. The icing on the cake is getting to tell that story a thousand different ways to a million different people. In addition to our ongoing work with demand gen/content, product, and partner marketing teams, I’m working with @Elisabeth Catuogno and the SlapFive team on a new approach to customer advocacy and marketing that we hope can have a profound impact on how well people can do their jobs and how much they love the work. Otherwise, I’m still out there making new connections and looking to solve B2B tech’s content challenges one client campaign at a time. Looking forward to sharing with and learning from you all (y’all?)
