Out of curiosity, would love to hear what email systems/platforms people are using for customer-focused comms (either marketing, digital CS or product comms) - multiple systems? Just one? Pros? Cons?

• Hubspot for Email
• Thena for Slack blasts
• Pendo for in-app

ooh @Evan Huck haven't heard of Thena - looks interesting

UserPilot for in-app
Pardot for customer comms (and regular marketing comms)

As much as you can streamline your tech stack, I'm a fan. Especially because it's then easier to visualize what all is going out to people.

That said, you may end up with other platforms (like customer.io or SendGrid) that do things a traditional MAP doesn't do.

yea true Sendgrid as more transactional (ie non-marketing/comms) app-driven email (password resets, notifications, etc)

Evan Huck September 11, 2024 at 05:55 PM

and yea Thena is awesome if you support customers in slack like we do. let me know if you want an intro to the founder - great platform (also helps manages slack questions/help asks as tickets like a Zendesk does which is nice if you're in 100+ slack channels w/customers like we are 🙂

We use Gainsight for customer emails like a monthly customer newsletter or announcements. I don’t think Gainsight is the best for this but I work with what we have for now 🥲 We use Sendgrid as well similar to how Evan mentioned above - password reset, email notifications for our customer education resources, etc.
