Does anyone do pre-conference training as part of your overall customer conference/ user groups, and if so, do you charge a fee?
Curious to see what other SaaS companies are doing around the cost and value. Thanks!
I've done this at a previous company. Yes with a fee - it was a full day. I can't remember how much we charged .. but enough to know that they wouldn't cancel and we'd be stuck with the $$$ hotel fees
We do. We technically charge a fee, but we mostly give away free seats when sales requests them for their customers.
Hey Becca - Yes, I've done this at a few previous companies. One company focused on a selection of added cost workshops the day before and the day after the conference (Workshops, Main Day 1, Main Day 2, Workshops).
Another company used the pre-conference day for certification courses with the exam available on site so we could make a big deal out of those who finished their cert on site (as a part of the awards program).
Hi Becca,
We do include paid workshops on "day zero" of our conferences. These are hands on sessions that attendees include on their path to valuable professional certifications so we do charga fee for them. This training is also available at other times and locations where we also charge for it. It works out well for attendees at the conferences though because they can attend both.
We are adding a paid certification for the first time this year at our in person conference. It will likely be about $200 - we want people to be committed, but not make it too high. I do expect we will discount it for some customers.
