This community really needs a board. In the past, I've had a small group of people to reach out to, but as communities evolve, people come and go.
Do you @channel want to help steer this community? (Send me a private message @Mary Green (Owner CMAweekly))
What's involved?
• Small private group: Where I'll bring up issues and ask for input
• Recognition: We'll create a badge, title, and vote on a gift for participating
• Quarterly call: We will meet every quarter to discuss sponsors, vendors in the space, events, and other initiatives
• Help with small projects: 1:1 Connections, The Vendor Ratings Survey (Please help!! - while you won't get access to the names of people who have submitted ratings, you can help me parse the data, look for trends, etc), and other small things.
I'd like to thank all of the people that have helped steer this over the last 3 years (I can't believe how quickly time flies).
@Alexie Glover @Ari Hoffman @Shannon Howard @Kristine Kukich @Leslie Barrett @Lauren Turner @Joel Primack @Jennifer Lyons @Cara Peterson @Daniel Palay @Ashley Ward <@U09E7QN7R27> <@U08V0DUNXQB> @Rachel Ward @Irwin Hipsman and I'm sure there are many others that I am forgetting, please forgive me, ty all 🙂
Sponsors: @Evan Huck @Jeff Reekers @ @Sunny Manivannan @Andru Creighton and @Zach Hawtof
All you vendors who have participated too: @Liz Richardson @Amy Ng @Kaily Baskett @Alison Bukowski
If you've read all of this... please take the survey if you haven't 😄
Always happy to help!
You ARE the best @Mary Green (Owner CMAweekly) and like @Shannon Howard , you always know we’ve got your back. Honored you’d ask

run it back
Always here to help! I really want to do a "state of Customer marketing" report, so can totally help with the vendor report
@Cara Peterson, i think given the timing, this is critically important. We need to all come together to support you on this and get as many people out in the CMA space to actually take it to get a real sense of what’s going on. The last major shift in our space was 2022 when there was hyper growth and right now I think there’s been a huge squeeze. This would really help level set how to reprioritize where and how the operational function delivers value and reports on it;
Always here to help and love the squad and value of the CMAweekly Community ❤️
What they all said!!!😉
Happy to help @Mary Green (Owner CMAweekly)!
@Cara Peterson I’ve been thinking about the same thing re: “State of Customer Marketing” report so if you (and others) wanted to team up to create something I’d be down!
Thank you for everything Mary - happy to help and spread the word. If you end up doing a state of CM - I can promote it in my newsletter
We’ve been super fortunate to sponsor and be included in the community the last few years. The learnings and connections have been so invaluable. Thank you, Mary!
I realize Sponsor involvement must rightfully be kept separated on many things where bias could come into play - but we’re here for continued support always! (Love the state of CMA report idea also!)
Ty everyone, the state of CMA sounds great. Let’s do it in early 26! Sound good?
Doesn't Customer Marketing Alliance do this annual report? Hope I am not opening up a can of worms!
they did in 2024
Could this report be more focused on metrics/reporting/impact + tactics/strategy vs platforms?
I actually didn’t realize they had one. I only think I knew about the salary report. The State of Customer Marketing report is solid, but there are definitely gaps we could fill. IMO, more research and benchmarks can only help elevate the CMA function.
Here it is. My guess is they will release one in Q1 as it generates lots of content for them State of Customer Marketing Report | 2024
That’s ok @Irwin Hipsman we have plenty to do in one of our own.
Yea of course we're in a different category as a sponsor as Jeff said - but let us know how we can help, we love the community!
InEvidence publishes a solid annual report. It's hefty but has some good info about the state of the practice:
Thank you @Deena Zenyk I was hoping to see how many people they surveyed, did you happen to see?
