✨💼❓Random-ish question for recruiters, hiring managers, and, well everyone - what are your thoughts about jobs that ask you this:
"This employer may use an artificial intelligence algorithm to provide an initial comparison of an applicant’s education, experience, and skills against the education, experience and skill requirements in the job description. This analysis produces a Profile Relevancy score, which is intended to be one of many factors that a potential employer will review in making its interview decisions; there are no cut off scores and all applications are visible to employers.
The Profile Relevancy score for applicants who opt out will be listed as “Not Available.”"Is it more beneficial for a job seeker (me!) to opt in or not? Does it negatively impact someone's candidacy if they opt out, OR does it improve your chances of getting that elusive call back if you opt in? All thoughts welcome!

As a hiring manager, I usually never find out about the AI screening - this is something entirely managed by our talent and recruiting team. We usually get so many applicants that I only see a very curated list. In some cases, we had over 1k ppl apply and there's no way I could review even 5% of the candidates. What helps more is sending a linkedin DM or email from someone that Im connected with - encouraging me to look at the candidate

Thank you, @Kevin Lau! I've heard about DMing the hiring manager on LinkedIn - typically I don't know them personally before finding out about the position. What are your thoughts on candidates reaching out cold?

A DM from a mutuel connection definitely helps. I’ve done this myself many times for folks in my network. At least then it’s not cold. Some ppl do have screeners on their LinkedIn

Thank you, that really helps!
