I have a great testimonial I filmed with a customer earlier this year that I'd like to potentially use in some new landing pages and ads. The person themself has since left the company but the company is still a customer of ours. Thoughts on using parts of her video in the present?

Hi, Tim! This is my gut reaction. I wouldn’t use the video. Video feels current to me. Text, on the other hand, feels okay.

That said, maybe if you could put that they are a former employee of the company in a “subtitle” (that’s not the right word), that could be okay.

If you decide you want to use the video, maybe reach out to her and ask her if it’s okay with her. There may be legalese somewhere that gives you the right to use her likeness, but getting her go ahead would make it better.

Know what, pretend that third paragraph went first. 😉 I recommend that course of action.

I would ask the person involved.

If it isn’t too much of a challenge to film again with another advocate within the company I’d recommend that
