Has anybody used a video partner/service to get testimonials from customers at an industry conference? I'm wondering if anybody has found anything cheaper than $5k for just the production.

Hi @Tim Jahn happy to talk to you about this. Is that for a one camera, one day shoot? The details of the $5K budget proposal will help me to share my thoughts on potential other vendors, based on what you're looking for.

Hi there! 2 camera, half day shoot. But open to 1 camera if it significantly lowers costs.

Hey Tim! As someone who supports video production (as an agency), you'll be hard pressed to find something that cheap for on-site. Even if you're just looking for someone to do the capture, a half-day rate for less than $5k would be an astronomical deal. You may have some success reaching out to local film schools to see if you can grab an intern/student for the gig.

@Alexie Glover - 100% agree with you, I'm just doing some due diligence so I have the research to prove it's not possible for leadership. 🙂

For everyone's reference, the hidden costs in video are generally in b-roll, editing, and music! Video is expensive period, but those three items are sneaky with their ability to make projects very expensive!

Agreed, a basic interview/testimonial video shoot isn't complicated. It's the music, motion graphics, other graphics, revisions, etc that can rack up the bill. Depends on your creative vision!

I've had great experience with BlendedSense, depending on the full scope, you could be very close to $5K. Happy to make an intro if needed. I think I paid around $4500 for two half-day filming sessions in Denver, at an industry event. I received 10ish testimonial clips with editing and a b-roll for that price.

Thanks, I'll take a look at them!

Could you use the crew for the filming and then bring the footage in house to a video editor? We just did a single day shoot with 2 cameras and a crew and it was less than 4K. But we are doing all the editing in house.

Yeah, that's what we're doing. Leadership wants to just buy equipment and handle the shoot (and future ones) ourselves rather than spend on each, so I was just seeing how low we could go.

From what I've learned, even having a full in-house production team, to ship and travel around with the camera equipment can be very expensive, and not easy. Again, I'd recommended looking into BlendedSense if you don't have a production team, they are great.

@Becca Snee - Did the BlendedSense pricing include travel costs for the production crew?

Yes, what is great about them and the reason it is more affordable is they source local talent for you based on location, so you don't have the travel fees

I'd look into Testimonial Hero for this as well

Thanks both!

That is an insane price for 2-camera shoot.
