Good day customer marketing folks, has anyone done an awards program? What would you say are the top benefits of doing an awards program?

we have done an awards program for our customers, celebrating their achievements with our product. we flew the winners to our customer conference. we havent formally measured business impact, but we know that our customers really appreciate the recognition and it drives awareness/attendance to our annual customer conference.

We’ve done one! I don’t think it was as involved as other orgs but we worked closely with CS to get submissions and shared the winners at our online user conference. I’d say it’s a great way to get UGC like testimonials, case studies, e-books, etc. It’s a win win! I wish we did more with it honestly.

I've supported a few for different clients, we just wrapped up one. A few of the benefits are:
1. Uncovering new advocates
2. Increasing customer content production (8+ new case studies in the last FY)
3. Creating a new channel for content (thought leadership/innovation stories)
4. Elevating the brand, associated with industry-leading thought leadership and innovation
5. Content we've created: blogs, social, testimonials, case studies, ebooks, webinar, press releases, customer story slides
6. Generated interest from prospects by hosting a webinar featuring industry best practices
7. Differentiating your brand amongst competitors
8. Surprise and delight customers by approaching them with the idea of nominating (we do supported nominations where we use existing content to draft a nomination on their behalf)
