for those of you that are doing email comms -- whats your average open rate for customers specifically

Daniel Palay March 15, 2024 at 11:26 PM

@Amanda Peacock mind if i steal this question for a live webinar we are doing on this very subject (Customer Comms) next week?

Something tells me that @Shannon Howard & @Cara Peterson would have opinions.

Shannon Howard March 15, 2024 at 11:40 PM

Has depended on the company and type of comm.

Usually 35-40% for newsletters. Current company product update email open rate is 80-85%.

I don't think 20-30 is bad for customers tbh depending on topic. Obvs would prefer higher but I've been at previous jobs and it was 8 percent when I got there!

Yea we were hovering in that range when I took over. It's been a process, for sure!

Wow @Shannon Howard !

Cara Peterson March 18, 2024 at 01:13 PM

@Shannon Howard 80-85% is AMAZING

It also depends on the quality of your distro list. Using a newsletter as an example - If it's being sent to everyone, with no filtering, then maybe 10-15%. With some targeting, 35%.

+1 on pendo, particularly when leveraging the Salesforce integration

@Daniel Palay can you share more about your webinar? Would love to register if it’s open to general public.

I'm usually around 40-60% ... I credit a lot of that to using Gainsight for emails. They look like they come from me in Outlook. No fancy stuff.
