I’m starting a new role next week after what was probably the hardest job search I’ve ever experienced, and I just wanted to share a note of support for anyone else currently looking.
There’s so much advice out there, what to say, how to interview, how to stand out—but the reality is, it's a tough market. I made it to several final rounds, completed so many presentations and assignments, followed up with every contact… and the job I ended up landing? I had a typo in my email.

It’s easy to internalize rejection and start questioning yourself, or feel like you need to be perfect just to get a response. I definitely struggled with imposter syndrome along the way, and the constant pressure to get everything exactly right was exhausting.

So if you’re in it right now, please be gentle with yourself. It’s not easy—and you’re not alone. If you ever want to talk, need a second set of eyes on something, or just a reminder that you’re doing great, my DMs are open. Cheering you on. 💙

Needed this now more than ever. I was laid off this morning and am not excited to be starting the hunt.
However, I am SO excited for you Cara!! It gives me hope in this journey I'm starting, so thanks for sharing yours.

Congratulations, @Cara Peterson! 🎉 It is indeed rough out here and it's SO helpful to have this community, we are here for each other and we're going to be okay. As my favorite DJ always says, "You are not alone." (www.kexp.org)

Enjoy your days before the new gig and treat yourself to the best tropical smoothie you can find! 🌴🍍🍓
