Hi 👋 Spoke to a recruiter at Vercel yesterday about their open
. Happy to send resumes over for those who are interested. What I could gather from my conversation:• ~600 employees
• JD mentions hybrid but I think they are open to remote
• Role reports into the Head of Product Marketing
• Looking for a builder - currently have nothing in place for customer marketing
• Company has been experiencing really strong growth
• I asked how success will be measured for this person. Recruiter just took over this role he didn’t have a lot of detail there so that would be something to dig into with hiring manager.

Thank you Ciana. The post on LinkedIn is flagged as remote. It was first posted 5/21/25. They also posted a customer evidence role in late 2023 and I am not sure if that role was filled.

Not sure about any of the history but this information is straight from the recruiter who I spoke with on Friday!

Just adding for color ;)

Thank you Ciana - I applied for this role on May 30th - and got a response they were "going another direction" on June 4

This recruiter is new to the role (it looks like it has moved agencies), so I don’t have any context on the prior history. To be honest, I don’t think the new recruiter does either.
I was sharing in case it’s helpful. Interviewing right now is incredibly tough, and I completely understand the frustration. Smaller companies in hypergrowth often have growing pains when it comes to hiring, especially if they have not put formal processes in place yet.
I will make sure to pass along your feedback to the new recruiter. I know how important it is for them to hear this kind of insight.

Totally make sense - I also looked in my previous job search history and applied to this role last year - maybe they haven't found the right fit yet, or the strategy is changing 😉

@Karen Thomas yes, that is what I was thinking. It seems pretty common.

@Ciana Abdollahian nothing negative towards you, the recruiter, or the company. I appreciate your offer to connect candidates with this new recruiter.

have a couple buddies there that are Enterprise AEs - company is doing very well and growing fast - way overdue for customer marketing, so great opp to make a big impact. no shortage of happy customers/users to work with.

Some spicy info on this one. I made it to the final round -8 interviews and an assignment. They offered the role to to someone else. The person did not accept and they reached out to me last week to see if I would give them another shot. Met with the new CMO and got rejected because they are rewriting the position to be more senior, so it may get reposted.
Team seems great, the culture is supposedly amazing, company is very customer oriented, product is actually pretty good, was testing it out to make sales pitch decks for customer stories and worked way better than ChatGPT.

more spice on this one: they just had a 16% layoff last week 😢

Are we still talking about Vercel @Cara Peterson? That certainly explains a lot.

Yes! Sorry I’m terrible with adding context!
