Hi all! I have the opportunity to build a customer community from scratch. This is something I am very excited and passionate about doing but I’m doing my due diligence to choose a software that will meet our needs. I’ve used Khoros (primarily for discussion boards) and Influitive in the past. The community landscape has changed a bit and there’s definitely more options now. • Which platforms do you use for community building and management and why? • What do you like? • What would you improve?

I think the platform really depends on your goals for the community. I would say it’s helpful to identify your goals, then determine your must have features, then start looking at platforms to see if they align. I did this last year if you’d like to chat.

I’ve figured out my goals and requirements. I’m in the process of comparing all the features but I want to understand what these features are really like as an everyday user. Not from all the sales materials. I’m looking for the real real 😁
I would go dig through some as an end user. (but it also helps to talk to the people who manage them so you know the reality of whether it's a good experience or frustrating AND whether they really have the backend tools you'll need)
and YES to looking past the sales pitch. 😂
