In *communities for customers*, do y’all segment it/create dedicated spaces by company size (SMB/startup, MM, Enterprise)?

I'm currently supporting one customer community for a client (global SaaS company) and it is not segmented in any way.

I do not segment it like that unless there are a lot of customers active and they are requesting it.

I’ve never done it, but a friend asked if I knew of any, and I don’t. However, I shared ones that I thought might do it that but who knows unless you get in it OR talk to the CM

I wouldn't formally segment, but would create specific topical channels/areas that are likely to appeal to different company sizes. So for example, you could have a channel on working solo/with a small team, or a channel on working with your PMO. People from SMB will most likely be on small teams so would join that channel, but they probably don't have a PMO at their org so wouldn't be interested in that. People from enterprise would probably be the reverse. People end up mostly talking to peers from similar orgs, but it's not enforced and you aren't excluding anyone from joining an area just because it isn't usually relevant for the business size.

Just wondering if anyone (or their org) does this today, since I don’t know anyone who does off the top of my head who does.

  • 1 to @Lauren Stefano's thoughts. @Joel Primack we are exploring a "managed account" track for our Champions program as we are finding C-suite/IT leaders aren't keen on spending all their time in Influitive "winning points", and there's an opportunity for a more high touch/white glove/ABM approach. Still early days but working with our Field & Channel, Sales & PMM enablement teams now to explore this
