I’m trying to build a bit of a report to share what CMA’ers are doing for 2023, what’s your focus?
- Advocacy program
- CABs
- Community events
I'd say my focus is creating more customer content overall, with a focus on video.
- Community
- Customer stories (not just case studies, but a variety of different types of stories)
- Executive CAB

- Building out community as our communication hub.
- Hosting first in-person CAB and expanding CAB membership.
- Building out references program.
- Retention (Customer Meetups, Adoption campaigns, University re-launch)
- Upsell/Uplift (expansion campaigns + marketing activities, stronger segmentation for personalization, building out lifecycle nurtures)
- Advocacy (Program launch, increase third party reviews, customer story re-fresh, CAB launch)
My 2023 plans are a little different than the usual CMA-er. The main goal: help my clients do more and reach their program goals 💪 Also working on a few community value add pieces which will be super fun!
Please send this to them as my primary focus for FY23

This is somewhat embarrassing as a customer marketing vendor - but we haven't done anything on customer community/user groups/CABs yet. We don't have a marketing team yet so it's just a bit daunting/overwhelming for me and I don't know where to start...
Maybe I just throw all of our users in a channel in this slack group or something 🙂
You start with a martini and a call with your favorite customer to ask what they would want from a CAB or community (education, engagement, direction for product, networking, etc). Then you get buy-in from product/support/CS on what they will DO with the information for and from customers.
That's my current hurdle... Can't get approval for a CAB yet due to the internal piece.
@Mary Green (Owner CMAweekly) it'd be great to host a call about internal approval for a variety of asks! Seems to be a bit of a theme lately with @Val Geisler's awards program too
