Hi all, I saw this topic come up in another space; Anyone struggling with approval of G2 reviews? I’m happy to get Katlin on and discuss, let me know.
Have heard of a few recently where they’re getting rejected as “AI generated” (even when they’re not) but haven’t experienced this personally!
Mensch, I can't imagine the challenge G2 must be facing in preventing the fake ones.
AI is basically a never-sleeping spam machine; probably all sorts of new problems to tango with.
@Meg O'Hearn @Taylor Page
we haven't gotten any rejected as 'fake' but we have had a very large percentage rejected and have seen it go up in the last year
Any thoughts on this @Katlin Hess?
Thanks for the tag @Mary Green (Owner CMAweekly)!
I haven't heard that reviews are getting rejected more than they previously were, but I can tell you there's a team of real people who read every single review that comes in.
They are using a new tool that detects AI content so that's why we're likely seeing more getting flagged for that reason. In general if there are any reviews that don't seem quite right, or that you think were rejected unfairly, our team is always happy to take a second look. The quickest way to do that is to flag them for your G2 CSM and they can fast track it for you or open a case with our support team and they can flag it for our review moderation team.
I know I wasn't tagged here, but chiming in anyway 🙂 It is typical to have 35% of GPI reviews rejected for a variety of reasons (direct feedback from my GPI account manager in my last role). So I think if they typically are rejecting that many and now there are mechanisms in place to identify AI-generated reviews, plus the FTC cracking down on reviews as well...let's just say I'm not surprised. I agree with @Katlin Hess that if you're seeing something concerning, follow up with your account manager if you have one. For us at PeerSpot, we secure a lot of reviews through direct interview with customers so the verification process is faster and more reliable.
My head kind of wants to explode when I think about the AI tools that we're going to need to make sure AI tools aren't being used in ways we don't want them to 🤪
Always jump in @Alison Bukowski and ty @Katlin Hess
Right @Alison Bukowski? I used to work in Ed Tech and that's the hot topic right now -- how to use AI to prevent AI generated course work!
Also, opened LinkedIn to this article:
Thanks all! We average 50-60 percent, but its recently gone up to 80-90%. Even updates to already approved reviews! We haven’t really had much luck getting anything tangible from G2 about it. We went from ~15-25 reviews a month to like 2.
@Meg O'Hearn that seems crazy high! I'll DM you to learn more and see if there's anything I can help push through on my end!
@Katlin Hess thanks, super appreciative! 🙏
