Hey everyone! Our org is considering hosting an in-person CAB session in late April/early May and would love to hear about your past experiences or any advice you can share. Our NA based CAB is spread out all over the country, and we don’t have a user conference that would make sense to align it with. Disclaimer: We’ve held virtual CAB sessions twice a year for the last three years, so this is new territory for us. 1. Any tips on gauging CAB members interest in attending in person and handling scheduling challenges? Would you recommend sending out a survey to gather preferences and availability? 2. Any recommendations on choosing a neutral location? Thank you in advance!!

You may already be starting too late....that said, selecting a place is completely dependent on budget and the ability of your board members to get away to the location. You need to make sure they can accept travel as a gift, or not. That will determine whether you bring people to a centralized location, or go to the city with the most members already there. Also think about spouses. If you're including them in the invitation, you may need to plan something for them to do during the CAB meeting.

You'll also want to plan an "event" that's fun: wine tasting, comedy club, river tour, etc. My last one had a whiskey tasting.

Thanks Kristine. We won't be paying for spouses to join and all of our members are in different cities, so we would need to fly everyone in to a neutral location or one lucky member will get to stay local

we did a survey to get their preferred location and date preferences etc -- can share with you if that helps!
