could use some help with verbiage/ideas -- a prospect has invited 5 people to a reference call with only 1 customer. i normally keep it at 2 prospects to 1 customer because i dont want it to feel like a presentation or like they're on the spot. any recos for how to approach with sales/prospect?
Have you thought to invite only the two main decision makers and record the call? Not sure if that's something your advocate may be open to?
the invites have already gone out and they forwarded it to the additional prospects so i think moving forward I could do that but now it feels like i can't just like .. remove them?
Ah, yes. Super awkward! Sounds like a potential miscommunication with how Sales has pitched the conversation. Potentially smooth things over for this instance by asking the advocate if they'd like to bring a colleague or two along with them?
yeah good call -- lemme see -- would be awk to uninvite prospects right?
100% awkward to uninvite. My approach to damage control would be to dilute with more folks from the advocate side, so it's more of a roundtable with potentially different personas represented (ie. stakeholders AND users). In the future, I'd use this as a learning opportunity to build guidelines for sales when setting up calls. Outlining why it's not appropriate to encourage sharing the invite, etc.
yep -- ok got it -- thanks!! also woof lol
Big woof 😮💨
Good luck!!
