uhhhm, not exactly. just that if we worked overtime, we got paid for it, but had to report any overtime to our bosses beforehand
Yeah, that doesn’t sound better at all. Not exactly worse though. What is the benefit for the company to have people be non-exempt?
it shouldn't be based on what is better/worse for either you or the company. there are federal rules from the dept of labor about how to classify workers based on things like how much you are paid and what your role is. there are tests that you can apply to a role to figure out which classification it should be. but also a labor/employment lawyer (which i am not!) could tell you more
