Does anyone have a creative customer referral program that they offer? What kind of incentives are you offering your customers? Do you ever find that your customers cannot accept gifts? We currently offer a gift card reward or an amount off of an added service/renewal, but am wondering if there's something more enticing we can offer our audience (CISOs, infosec folks).
Another question - are any of you measured on customer referral performance?

we do $250 for referrals and I am measured on performance. I've started testing out some new segments in the last few months and seen some success with targeted outreach!

We run a competition where whoever refers the most in a year gets a tesla!

Great question! Not specifically just for referrals, but for folks that can't accept monetary gifts, we promote a charity donation instead

@Amanda Peacock - Would love to hear more about your targeted outreach! Let's DM 🙂
@Emily Amos 🤯 wow! That's so much fun. Is this your first year doing it? Are people into it?
@Amy Ng I love the charity donation idea. This is fantastic. Do you let them choose which charity or do you have a selection of charities you work with? How does it work making the donation? Feel free to DM me!

I'd love to learn if anyone here does referrals for B2B SaaS company. We work directly with customers (vs. resellers, consultants, etc.), and our leadership team has very loosely said things like, "We should have a referral program!" And then when I ask is their vision focused on expanding usage within existing accounts (i.e. inviting colleagues to join/use the tool) vs. expanding pipeline (i.e. inviting professional peers to join), their answer is... "Yes" 😉

The one I'm running is for B2B SaaS, and we also work directly focused on customers vs. resellers etc. We focus on only expanding pipeline. Our model doesn't benefit from adding more users to the platform at the moment - but I'd imagine it'd be challenging to focus on both initiatives! Can you recommend the one that might be more beneficial to the business at the given moment and then once that's built, focus on the next?

No, we've been doing it for like 6-7 years now. It was a truck before a tesla. People are very competitive here, so they're into it!

Has anyone had any issues with rewards for referrals from customers outside the US?

Anti-bribery and anti-corruption regulations can definitely be more robust abroad. We typically see clients consult their Legal teams to see what's acceptable, and you could end up exploring the charity donation route and/or having some type of checkbox with legal language that clients need to check off to confirm the reward is not meant to construe favor, etc.

Can anyone share a page they send out to customers for referrals?

will DM you @Charlotte Weiss!

Thanks both!

@Sarah Koval some good conversation here as we think about expanding our referral program
