Just started a new gig and picking up their virtual user conference. I have done these before but it's been a minute since virtual and I know those tend to lag in attendance. Those here who do these virtual events, do you vote 2 half days back to back or one full day (starting later morning)? Thanks in advance!
1 full day for me.
Two half days back to back--it will lessen the multitasking. If you do a full day, you'll have to expect that people will be semi checked-out as they respond to emails, meetings, etc.
I suggest crafting your objectives and story arc first and then determine from there what would be best for your audience.
In other words, I don't think there's a silver bullet right or wrong.
we do first 1/2 day open to prospects/customers/partners, second 1/2 day for customers only -- with the virtual world we've found that worked best for our attendee numbers -- also user conferences are my jam -- lemme know if you have any other qs!!
Thank you! Everyone.
Def no perfect answer. And to answer your questions Mindy, goals are primarily to educate customers, launch new products and get adoption/interest for upsell, create content for the year, engage prospects (30% focus) and generate leads, and award customers (customer awards program). I care about attendance as well, but know virtual can be a mixed bag.
@Amanda Peacock I would love to show you my current goals/format and get your feedback. It's been 3 years since i've done a virtual conference and with the attendance/interest in virtual waining I'd love to hear what works for you. ALSO, had not thought about prospects/customers on day 1 and then day 2 customers only. Bomb idea.
Thanks again
for sure!! just send it over and we can always grab 1:1 time to chat if you want - i just helped @Lexie Sirak with something similar!
would you all have time to jump on a call and chat about events this week or next? I'd love to learn from you as well.
